Are rev D ECU's interchangeable with rev C on the B4 RSK?

Hi all! I'm new to Clubsub and trying to find my way around, I have been looking for posts relating to whether or not it is possible to install a 2002-3 Subaru B4 RSK rev D ECU into a 2000 B4 RSK rev C vehicle? the reason being is that I would like to get my ECU remapped but was told that it was not possible with the 2000 model ECU! Furthermore if it is possible will I have to upgrade certain engine components such as Denso Pink injectors and larger MAF housing if I was going to run it with the rev D standard map for a while? Thanks

doubt it, rev d is a hugely different setup than a rev c, wrx equivilent to v6 and v7

A friend of mine who uses his own computer to flash his Forester told me that he cant do it with this ECU for some reason! sorry for delay in reply just figured out how to see other peoples reply's. So there is mixed feelings on whether or not its interchangeable! Any advice for me? I have installed an exhaust system from the Y pipe and put a flat panel K&N in so far! Cheers and thanks

No.

Rev A-C is a JECS type ECU. Runs 90mm AFM etc.

Rev D is DENSO type. Runs insert type 78mm odd AFM different Sensor Feeds etc etc. These are Re-Flashable.

ecutek is a very very expensive piece of kit.

rev - c is the same as a v5/6 wrx... you can log the ecu, as it's obdII, but you can not reflash using opensourse gear.

you need to pay for it. it costs about the same as getting a link...

rev - d is essentially the same as a v7 wrx... denso ecu that can be reflashed (japan standard to comply with U.S. emissions laws)

interesting piece of random info, all japanese cars built post 2001, the ecu's HAVE to be reflashable....

Thanks guys for all the useful information! think I will have to keep my eyes open for a Prova or Mines ECU! but they are virtually impossible to come by so a paid remap may be the only solution in the end! Guess I should have gotten the Rev D version!

tbh, find a prova or mines ecu, or you'll have to go aftermarket standalone.... link or similar

Just found one! but not sure if this is correct as the guy selling it has not provided much information. Just emailed Mines and sent through that same image of the ECU and awaiting reply!
