Greddy BOV

just wondering whether anyone uses a Greddy BOV - if so what sound they produce - I currently have an HKS SSQV BOV but dont like the sound much, I notice people only seem to use HKS BOVs in Subarus - why is this?

Theory is the HKS ones are forced closed by boost, so are "un-leakable" and they pretty much never cause any of the idle / part throttle issues people bleat on about. In practise, the noise comes half from the fact the actual hole air vents from is that tiny they do a piss-poor job of being a BOV in the first place. Think air being forced out a balloon.

Personally I just think it sounds like tweety bird being violated but whatever floats your boat

Take a lot of the youtube vids with a grain of salt - cause the primary turbo has f-all inertia you don\'t get any of the "longer" bov sounds or flutters you get from a lot of other cars. Loudest I\'ve used so far was one of those turboXS RFL ones, no surprise with a trumpet the size of a fist I guess. I used one of the greddy ones a while back on a mitsi and thought it sounded stupid, resorted to no-bov instead, ahhh sweet sweet chattery no-bov-ness

My brother had a greddy bov in his Evo it has a nice fluttering sound. I don\'t think sequential bovs suit subarus I have a gfb t9000 in my b4 sounds decent it is quite loud when fully atmospheric I had problems with the car running rich and causing a lumpy idle because the maf so set it to 50/50 still sounds the same and reasonably loud. Have been told by others by having a hks the car won\'t run rich and the revs won\'t fluctuate etc...

I have one, sounds pretty good. HKS BOV is the "in" thing for everyone to have, Im not a fan of the sound they make.

There is alot of bro science that goes around with BOV\'s lol which generally guides the direction one takes.
