Jumping steering at full lock reverse - CV Joint?

Hi Guys,

99 B4 legacy

When I reverse into my car park; applying full lock sometimes I get this weird jumping sensation... also feels a bit like the wheels are slipping on the floor and then grabbing again. Not too much noise otherwise.

Is this CV joint? CV boot? I don't get any probs aside from when reversing into my park.

If it *is* a CV problem, can it wait until my next WOF (4 months away)? Or is there a risk I will crash or cause a crash?

Thanks,

Warren

does it shudder on full lock in fowards? my guess is the power steering pressure relief valve bouncing on its seat and making it jump..

They all do it. Its cos Subaru steering racks connect to the front of the hubs, and you can't get perfect steering alignment unless its connected to the rear of the hub. You'll notice on full lock that the inside wheel has massive positive camber. Thats how they semi get around it. Basically your wheels are slipping on the floor, giving the skipping you are noticing. Nothing to worry about. Just get a good alignment yearly.

Thanks all for your input....

DRFVDR: manual

boostcut: only happens in reverse.

boostin: Will have a look at the camber out of interest. This has only started happening in the last week or so.

I have always had the same car park and the exact same angle getting into it (in an apartment complex).

Wonder if this is a major prob requiring a lot of dollaros.

Could be as simple as the floor has been cleaned, so the tyres don't slip any more, they grab and release instead.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
