V6 JDM WRX vs V6 WRX STI

You will find that there are a few differences between JDM WRX vs NZnew WRX

Cant remember off the top of my head what they are for v6

Jap import vs. NZ New

A search will probably turn up a bit but according to the brochure less power from the NZ new I think. Then theres all sorts of weird odds and sods people have found on cars but lets be honest most of them are 10-20 Year old cars now so goodness knows who did what to them.

The JDM model certainly isnt the god mode car many people like to sell them as on Trademe and Facebook.

Unless it is actually a NZ new wrx, then wouldn\'t any plain old wrx be "JDM", being imported and all... Confuses the hell out of me people selling their "JDM" wrx as being better than any other imported wrx

No on V3/4 jdm iirc they got yellows and VF22 with a scratch fiestier tune. V5/6 both had yellows and same afm with TD04.

Yeah your on the right path. More "JDM" WRXs than NZ new I would guess. The overhype when there being sold online is sickening.

I don\'t mean to be a prick, but I thought that my "JDM" WRX was a world apart from my WRX and again with my STI. The only thing about the "JDM" WRX is that I felt the suspension and components were not up to spec to handle the extra power.

I have only owned imports but I have driven a couple of different NZ new GC8 WRX owned by mates, other than feeling down on power a tad I didn\'t think there was much difference. we also parted one once ( V4 no engine however) and the only difference I noticed was ECU.

Each to there own I guess.

This topics been done to death on here somewhere including Newsuba I think it was posting up the off the lot specs to compare.

Yeah I\'d agree with that. I did think the power difference was substantial and I\'m also pretty confident my comment was result of tired suspension and factory parts. Gc8\'s are old cars now. However, I\'m lost as to how you didn\'t find different injectors and a vf22 in there.

I do miss the vf22 my 28 gives up at about 6700...
