Ignition and turbo timer issue.

So I just bought a 99 wrx wagon. It has a turbo timer that I think has been installed wrong.

When you turn the ignition to AC it turns everything on, as if you have turned the key around to ON.

So its as if AC and ON are the same thing.

I\'ve attached a picture of the turbo timer, I have a feeling they\'re pretty common. Does anyone have the wiring instructions for it

Also it\'s set for a minute, I tried to change it to 10 seconds but it keeps reverting back to a minute. Anyone know how to fix it?

rip it out, fix the wiring that they have mashed up, and count the 10 seconds out yourself, or just drive gently for the last few minutes of the trip...

This I was thinking of doing. I\'ve owned a lot of turbo cars and never had a turbo timer. From what I\'ve read there is 2 schools of thought as to whether you need one or not, I\'m part of the later school of thought.

as am i imho, turbo timers go hand in hand with neons, ultra loud BOV\'s, remote engine starts and airbag suspension... lol

Handy imo but not a fan of just using them for turbo timing. Keeps my kid happy when Im loading car or getting subway etc. Just music doesnt do it but the noisy exhaust does. Good for warming it up in the morning when gassing up. Crank up the timer and go pay with the keys in your hand. Wired to handbrake so no issue there.
