Blouch Turbos?

I\'m looking for some info on blouch turbos, who here has run one? I\'m specifically looking at the td05 18g and 20g billet with the 7cm rear, for a 2L v5 type r. Non avcs heads but with the necessary support, v8 tmic, bigger injector etc. They\'re all over the USA forums, but it seems they have over inflated dyno readings and usually on E85. Is there much advantage to them over a good VF setup (the car currently has a vf28 on 19psi but it whines a lot after some use), or even the kinugawa / kamak setup?

I\'m after response and more low to mid power for hillclimb and tarmac use rather than an all out top ender.

How much will they set you back? I wouldnt waste my money on them. Few people I talked to tuners/turbo men said the majority they had seen of them were shit some delivered some didnt. Kinugawa had the same rep. Some housings not machined well etc.

Motorsport engineering have new billet wheels for VF/TD which give a bit of a kick over stock 30hp iirc along with his other secret squirrel upgrades that will get rid of your whine. Give him a message on FB.

Grab a FMIC while youre at it tho and what injectors are you running? Stock block wont take a lot more than 220-30wkw odd anyway which is about the limit of your VF.

$1300 for the 18g and $1440 for the 20g, that\'s US$ plus delivery and duty on top. So around $2K nz all said and done I spose. I would have thought the blouch would have been better quality than the kinugawa. Theyre usa machined wheels with genuine Mitsubishi cores.

Motorsport engineering, is that Steve Murch? That definitely sounds good and more cost effective. It would be nice if it came in a little earlier and not as punchy, I prefer the smooth powerband rather than the punch it has now, that\'s what I was more hoping for with a td05, thinking it was better technology than vf setups. Plus heaps of power in a gc8 leads to all other problems but that\'s a different topic haha.

I have v8 block ready for build sitting around and 550cc injectors. But I\'d consider a top feed conversion and even bigger injectors if it was necessary.

Its just a mitzi turbo with their comp wheel on it afaik. Kinugawa do similar I think. $2k is bolt on garrett money.

Ive got a MSE hybrid I think its a 60lb wheel in his 4" custom antisurge cover and a 7cm rear with back cut TD05 turbine. It makes 20psi by roughly 4k and comes on like a freight train after 3k with no ebc just spring pressure. He turns them out for $1.2k or something max but would need a different cover to work in stock location.

550cc will see you 240-250wkw it seems or go for decaps mine came out at 840cc then do the V7/8 mani conversion. Easy to do and cost you less than a top feed rail conversion kit.

Get hold of Steve see what he will do for you with one of those new comp wheels on your present turbo. Should give you what you want with the V8 bottom end and 550cc injectors. Stoffa made 242wkw odd with a MSE 18G on a VF36 frame running P20 housing iirc but not sure what the limiting factor was there. He isnt fast tho so maybe buy a spare core to send him. I waited 2 months as I told him I was in no hurry then when I needed it he did within the week.

Obviously you will need some sort of ecu to tune for it.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
