Electric window + reverse light problems, help please!

Howdy folks,

We have a JDM 1996 legacy wagon that\'s developed two problems:

1. Front passenger side electric window is not controllable in up direction (down is ok tho..) from drivers controls, and it stopped working briefly with passenger switch too, but seems to have come right now. Reckon disconnecting battery is worth a shot?

2. Reverse lights only come on sometimes, seems to depend on how you hold the gear stick in the gate. I tried removing trim around gear stick looking for a switch, but couldn\'t find one, I\'m guessing it\'s inside the gearbox? Has been thru a few warrant of fitnesses with this problem, and has not been picked up so far.

Any ideas what I can try before heading to an auto sparky please?

Cheers

The window fault is most likely just dirty contacts inside the drivers control box (switch box), they fill up with dust and gunk and the contacts need cleaning. Failing that maybe a broken wire in the door loom?

Yeah the Reverse switch will be in the Gearbox. Maybe a second hand replacement?

Pull your Drivers Widow Control/Switch Box out. Open it up and clean everything with "Electrical Contact Cleaner". You may need to lightly sand the contact plates if they\'re corroded.

This is a Toyota Reverse Switch from a Surf Gear Box sitting on my table. Subaru wouldn\'t be too different:

is it a manual ?

is it an early car ( legacy 89-93 Wrx 93-95)

if so then the reverse switch in your gear box is probably fill of oil, either replace it or clean it out

Yeah, manual. Second generation BG5 wagon. Cheers

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
