98 Forester wont turn over

Hi Guys,

Out for a sunday drive on saturday, when pulled up at the set of lights

Once lights turned green i went to take off, put my foot down and car seemed sluggish, though i must have caugh 3rd went to change down to 1st went relised i was already there.

Car keeped moving with foot down, felt like it was an old van that need the throttle to the floor to clean the line

Pulled into a park and sat for a minute, went to take off again put foot down and car moved forward, but felt like it was going to stall, kinda jumped forward rathing than moved into next park. Turned it off hecked what i could. Tryed to start back up but now wont turn over. Same thing this morning.

Had to get a tow home.

Check battery terminals? Faulty TPS?

+1 check Battery Terminals.

When you turn the Ignition on, or try to start it do the Dash Warning Lights come up?

Does the CEL light up?

will go check the Battery Terminals shortly

When i turn the Ignition on, the warning lights do come on.

The CEL comes on like normal and goes once i turn the key

Sweet, Dash Lights means Battery Power and Check Engine Light means ECU Power.

My next favourite question...Have you got a Multi Meter?

If Dash Light come on but the Starter wont engage or even click. Then it must be Fuse/Starter Relay/Ignition or bad Earth. Maybe Negative Battery Terminal loose or main Starter Earth cable loose?

Or, if you\'ve just worded it wrong and your Starter is engaging, the engine turns over but wont start/Fire Up.

But your CEL is going out again.

Then your Fuel Pump has shat it self.

yea i have worded it wrong, the starter engages and the engine turns just wont fire up like its not gettn any fuel

definatly still has power!

Cool, yeah will be Fuel Pump. Crapping out as your car was struggling then died completely.
