removing roof rack

Anyone know how to remove the standard 96 impreza wagon roof rack mounts??? or where to get the tool to do this??

It should be pretty standard tools. Subaru don't do anything fancy. You'll probably need to drop the head lining though.

Yep if same as Leggy its drop the head lining then unbolt using #10 socket(??), you will need plugs to cover the wholes, unless its for panel beating and covering in...

if its anything like my wrx was to remove racks you wont need to touch the roof lining at all. there are caps that pop off either end of the racks with star drive bolts(not sure of proper name). basically undo those bolts and thats it the racks come off and the mounts stay there as they sit lower than been flush with the roof, then get a set of roof gutter mouldings from a non turbo without roof racks to fill in the gaps you now have lol. these mouldings are really hard to get tho unless you buy new from subaru.

this is my version 2, if yours is version 3 it could be the other type which you will need to do the roof lining thing.
