Sti gauge swap. ABS / brake light issue.

 Rosssub']This relay is a 5 pin N/O N/C, so has both a 'normally open' and a 'normally closed' circuit built in. Just depends which contacts are used.

Looks like terminal 87 for normally closed relay, or terminal a87 for normally open:

Surely that won't affect it hahah besides if i plug the original cluster in the handbrake light functions as normal.

handbrake light also does fluid level may just check if the sensor works the right way

Have you tried different configurations on the relay in case it's connected backwards?

yeah i have, ill fiddle around more tomorrow.

alright so. I cut the abs wire (b3) green/yellow strip and plugged the end coming from the cluster into the switched circuit on the relay and the other end onto the other plug for the switched circuit. Then i cut the ground wire (c6) and plugged the ends into the remaining plugs on the relay only to find that it did nothing.

So i then cut the power wire ( c7 ) and plugged that into where one of the ground wires were and that just caused the whole cluster to be dead. nothing came on.( i put everything back to how it was btw, so the clusters not broken hah )

What have i don't wrong ? help lol

Nah it should look something like this:

So power from the ABS unit switches the relay. When the relay switches it cuts the earth to B3.

sweet bro ill give it a try and let you know. Whats the grey line mean ? and don't i need to use the 87 and not 87a ( isn't 87a normally open relay, and 87 normally closed ?)

That's just my rough editing, 87a for N/C and 87 for N/O.

alright so i wired it up like in the picture you posted and it did nothing. So i switched the abs wires the other way around and that turned the abs light to permanently off which may not sound like a problem, but the abs light need to come on during start up then turn off in order to pass a WOF. and ideas ?

Show us a picture(labeled ) of what you've done. A second set of eyes may pick something that you may have inadvertently missed

i had to put the abs wire this way otherwise it just did the normal thing and stayed on

alright to answer you question, No when i wired it up like you say its comes on during start up and stays on
