Is anyone running Kinugawa Td05 20G Twin Scroll turbo?

Hi all,

I am looking for an upgrade for my VF37 and aim is around 270kw on 98 with ~25psi boost on stock block with supporting mods and I was thinking to buy the Kinugawa Td05 20G Twin Scroll turbo but does anyone have any experience on the spool and power?

Any input will be appreciated.

Talk to ninja/spence on here for real world exp hes running a td06sl2 20g t/s iirc. I doubt you would get within a bulls roar of 270wkw with a stock td05h turbine more like 240-250wkw. Maybe if it was murched you would get there if the rest of your setup works well. Could get murch to bang something together in a t/s kinugawa housing - genuine parts and likely cheaper.

Oh I see, no worries. As far as I know, td06 20G are known to be a bit laggy so might have to see if there is another option that has better response and top end.

What do you define as laggy tho dude? T/S and avcs make big differences to any turbo and help you cheat to achieve both low/top rather than having to choose. My murched td05/garrett made 20psi by 4k s/s no avcs and was a fair bit bigger than a 20g. That 221wkw tune getting old already?

I see, Yeap the AVCS and ported heads will help spool. I was thinking of 25 psi by 4300 which would be really good for power level of 270kw+. I was also looking at Blouch 1.5Xtr with 10cm^2 t/s housing and that should easily satisfy the spool and power but that is bloody expensive.

Haha yeah 221kw seems slow for me now since I drive the car daily and abuse it.

Have a talk to al see what he recommends. Those stx/71 whatevers seem to work well but no idea on cost. One being tested in nz soon im keen to see how it goes on an nz dyno. Gt3071 jobs seem to work well but big $$ like you say and if they **** out its over.

You got any other mods planned or just turbo/injectors?

I believe Al is running the 2.5XTR with 10% meth on his built 2.35L and he made over 300kw without really pushing it. I saw a few STX67/71 results on nasioc but there are mixed reviews, some people think they are laggy and dont really produce much power of the 20Gs.

I am thinking of beginning the next stage of modding sometime next year.

Also some of the supporting mods, I think injectors (might decap stock ones though as Brad was saying they flow quite a bit and is only a couple of hundred bucks cost), HDi FMIC, a heavy duty (and street friendly) clutch since mine is on its way out due to constant launches.

Im running decap pinks came out at 840cc and cost me $96 shipped to get them cleaned and flowtested thro d-tech I decapped them myself. That murch job I was running was awesome and was making similar power on 14psi at far lower IAT with my own road tuning as the gcp 227wkw tune at 20psi with VF22. Thats a really nice result for that price! I might just do that when it comes to my upgrade as I think 840cc would do the job. What made you go down the ej257 route over ej207??

840cc should see you over 300wkw on pump.

Nothing really I swore I would always keep the 2l and add avcs one day kind of had some heads lined up that I was going to drop 272's into but mate had this and was keen to swap so it happened. Couldn't see a downside for a street car and love the way the power ramps up. I got over the VF thing real quick the way it always came on boost but way diff to displacement+boost this ticks nicely down low on part throttle and should still have nuts up top.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
