Compressor Wheel Damage

Apart from something entering through the front of the compressor cover, is there any other situations that would cause serious damage to the comp wheel?

I have always run my turbo with a filter, filter is not damaged so I'm trying to work what has caused this damage.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

HKS foam filter.

No idea how it happened, havent lost power suddenly. Have recently had engine rebuilt and tuned, has been running amazingly since then. Took filter off this morning as I had some wiring to install underneath the intake pipe / filter area and saw that eye sore.

How has the foam filter caused it? This filter has run on this turbo for 20-30,000 km with no problems previously.

I have heard that a lot of people dont recommend using foam type filters, because they can break down over time and get sucked into the turbo, however as i said the filter is not damaged.

Yes will the turbo should be an easy fix. What damage has it done to the engine is what I'm more concerned about.

Whats a could means of contacting Steve Murch other than by phone?

Phones best. Issue with him is time hes way to busy all the time. Good thing is he doesnt price himself to reduce demand which some people do.

Unsure if alltech would fit a new comp to it or not. Talk to steve see if he has time to do it or can put you onto someone who can.

Would there be evidence of how far the chunks/filings have gone through the intake? Pieces wedged in the IC or stuck to the intake walls?

Surely be worth checking and cleaning out the IC and pipework at least.

This but depends what you want out of it and where you want your powerband.

i'm running 26psi on high boost on my 2.1 CDB with kelford cams and seeing 400hp atw. I think my cam's arent dialed in correctly as i should be seeing more power than that. I was seeing 430hp on my 2L ODB, same turbo different cam's.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
