busted engine mount, now sloppy clutch??

hey guys, bit of a question.

busted an engine mount at gymkhana a couple of weeks ago.

in doing so, it sprayed a bit of clutch fluid from the reservoir across the bottom of the I/c

have since changed the engine mounts and have noticed a substantially different response from the clutch pedal

lighter than before, little bit spongy

clutch is a little less grabby

clutch slips when you give it some boot

clutch engagement is right at the very top of the pedal travel. like, you sneeze on the pedal and it disengages.

part of me is thinking if I bleed out the clutch it should fix it, as I assume when I busted the engine mount it caused some f**kery with the clutch.

I find it very unlikely that the clutch plate itself is borked, as it's had 1500km since I bought it, and maybe 1000km if that on previous owner (club member) looked brand new when we put it in... and its only been like this since the mount went.

anyone have some insight? need to get it sorted this weekend, really don't want to drive to flatnats on a slipping clutch

Have you tried bleeding it yet?

If it sprayed fluid out it's likely to have also sucked air in

not yet, going to try that this weekend. I hope its something that simple!!!!

It might need bleeding and you might also have clutch fluid on clutch disk.

hope it doesn't have fluid on the clutch plates. is there any way of cleaning it off if there is?

Brake cleaner would be my guess... but without actually removing the clutch I don't know how you'd be sure to get it cleaned properly,

and then with the amount of work required, you may as well just replace the disk with a new one.

my concern is its a genuine sti 6puk brass sintered motorsport clutch... pricy as hell. lol

Bleed it, hope it has worked out ok, worst case try slipping the fck out of it to burn it off a bit maybe?

Organic / kevlar would get contaminated by the oil but you'd probably be lucky with the brass
