dash lights flashing

hey all again

anybody know the reason my dash lights flash instead of stayin solid at night

Fuse im hinking but not to sure what fuse to change in car or under the bonnet fuse box any help would be great

Are all of the dash/warning lights flashing, like losing power and turning off and on? Or are they getting brighter, then back to normal?

na sorry should have been more accurate with what i was saying

so the fuel and temp guage are fine with lights on just the speedo and rev guage lights sorta flash wont stay solid oh and the clock light doesnt work at all

ive changed over the fuses but no good

Has the cluster been removed recently? Does your car have a dimmer dial/switch for the cluster brightness?

couldnt say if it had been removed mate sorry guy i got it from was not to much help and no dimmer switch i can see it stays solid for a couple of minutes(normally when warming it up) then just flashes its hard coz i work early mornings till late at nite so leave home in the dark get home in the dark all other lights work also if that elimanates anything have to keep my cell lit in my hand to see how fast im going haha

Pull the cluster out and make sure the plugs on the back are good, clean and tight. Then you could pull the cluster bulbs out, check them or try powering them with jumper wires straight from the battery.

had problems with these before when i was working for wingers. its quite common. it has something to do with alternator voltage spikes. we used to call Automasters here in Auckland to sort it out. they do some modification in the alternator wiring to solve this issue. subaru has also introduced a pak file upgrade to sort out this fault.
