Subaru Legacy RS 1990 boot wont open!!

Hey guys so i own a 1990 subaru legacy RS and just today my boot wont open using the lever.

I have no key for the boot because i had to replace my ignition and i just use alarm to lock the doors so i havent bothered to get a new one cut.

Any help will be appreciated thanks

Theres a lever in the latch to disable the interior lever . Have to use key to open it . Um get creatve through the back seat .

Actually youll prolly find a key that will open the boot . Try any nissan or subaru keys u can find . Youll be disgusted what will open what

that lil switch rings a bell now, but yea thru back seat (if ur lucky enuff to have a center pull down bit)

or couple bolts to pull up seat, then couple or 4 more to get the back rest out there will be heaps room to shimmy thru & macguyver it (take a torch & a few tools too, maybe some supplies if its a hot day, otherwise for even more effort pull the door lock (unless that was rekeyed too) and get the 5 or 4 digit code & get a key cut to code by a locksmith

or yea anything nissan/subaru might work as already suggested, I'd start there

OR leave it for the next guy (part time locksmithy here & I cant get into my BMW's glovebox lol its shut fr good as far as i'm concerned)

might need to pull the trim from inside the boot too, to get to the mechanism so a flat blade or somethign to pull those dum plactic trim clips that like to break

I got the latch from inside the car so boots open atm, what am i looking for from here? There seems to be no resistance from he lever in the front

So i got in from the inside and found the problem the little rubber ball attached to the wire from the latch in the front wasnt sitting properly.. doesnt suprise me after i saw the cond of the boot

yea theres a lever that you can flick right next to the catch that disengages the cable iirc (not in the lid / the lower catch that has the moving parts)

can you take a pic? (I'm not near a Subaru sedan) & we'll try point you in right area

Or something to that extent . Will have the word "cancel "and an arrow .

Lol as pita this is ,the hill holder and people who dont know about it trying to push start a car leads to lots of swearing
