Exhaust compatability

I have a GF8 v4 and am thinking about getting a new exhaust for it. There are a few nice looking jasma exhausts for good prices, but all of them are for v7. So do they fit easily, maybe with a few small mods, or is this a no go?

They will fit with small modification.

Should be no trouble for an exhaust shop.

Pretty much any from version 1-7 afaik. Had a GF8 exhaust on my old one

I have the exhaust/muffler off my RA that i got with it when i brought it. It bolts straight up to the factory exhaust system at the back flange. It should be a straight swap with no welding or cutting given its the same chassis, just different body shape.

I need to sell it as its just sitting there doing nothing in my garage and i have no use for it. PM me if you interested

Be careful with foresters..all will fit bar the rear muffler..

THe forester is about 50mm longer muffler than a wrx one.

But a wrx v1-7 downpipe and midsection will fit

I did the reverse, tried to put a Forester-spec aftermarket muffler on my V7. The Forester muffler hangs quite a bit lower, and about 5cm longer than what would normally fit a V7 Impreza. So had to get the hangers reattached.

Not 100% sure, but JASMA isn't a brand of muffler, its a rating - JASMA stands for Japanese Automobile Sports Muffler Association and there are essentially two types of certification: JASMA "Street Use" and JASMA "Race Use". (It also stands for Japanese Sewing Machine Association I think lol)

EDIT came across this :

You can also tell which company made your exhaust using the 3 digit number stamped on the data plate.

026 = Tanabe

044 = Spoon

005 = 5 zigen

002 = Mugen
