So my leggy died on me today..

I uh, got up for work this morng, startd up the leggy to let hur warm up a bit and i was walking away to go get ready and (not even 30 seconds later) the revs just dropd, and the car shook a a bit and just cut out, TT still counting and everything... restarted her up and its was ok...

Any ideas what that could be? Has happend once before now. Could it be anything to do with my AFM which i still nda replace with the new one i've got?

CEL's? It may have spat a code when it died, give that a check.

Hows the general maintenance (filters, oil etc.), maybe run some upper engine cleaner? Could it be something with the idle air controller?

mine use to sipt the dummy while driving turn ed out to be AFM

cheapest option to check if it is AFM is to go to Repco and buy a AFM cleaner ... easy to take apart and spray the sensor to see if cleaning this makes a difference. Usually a clean does the job. Cleaner costs around 20 something bucks. AFM costs a few 100 buckaroos

if i knew about the cleaner before I took my old afm apart to see what it looks like then snapp the board I would have done tht...haha if it died surely wouldv come up with an error code?

I understood that AFM cleaner _can_ bugger them eh. I'm not willing to test this theory yet as the cheapest i can get an orange sticker AFM for my RSB is $570!

Just incase my post wasnt read correctly, i uh KNOW for fact my afm is buggered, i have a new one sittin at home waiting to go in, just hoping that thats what was causing the issue, and not something else more expensive lol cheers for the input fellas

Why haven't you put the new one in, it's like a 2 minute job.

I'd just whack the replacement in and see how ya go before trying to think of what else could be wrong.

Yeah all sorted now, yeah it dont take long but after the week i've been having time aint on my side, so lets hope it doesn't die on me again eh lol

I bet the old AFM is fixable too. Don't chuck it out, whip out the soldering iron and see if there are any broken connections in there.

hay i can solder just fine lol whats with that comment? electronics was the only subject i passed at school, with honours i mite add, welding is a differant story ;D

Oh as a matter of fact i just repaird my xbox 360 with a soldering iron so there u go
