v5 ecu for a v2 engine

jst bout a v2 motor and just wondering if a v5 ecu will suit it

and also i am putting it into a 1994 twin turbo and wondering if there are any differences between the wiring looms at all like as in the sensors and what not?

It would be cheaper and easier in the long run to chuck a Link at it.

i doubt it would suit. The tunes would be completely different for one. And as far as the wiring is concerned, youll have a hell of a time figuring out what goes to what. Would be alot simpler to either get a loom with ECU for a V2. Or alternatively you could get an a/f computer with flying leads and sensors if its in your budget.

ohk dont think i have a the funds for an a/f comp atm will just try and track down v2 loom and ecu

3 plug v2 ecu and 4 plug v5 ecu. one has coil on plug the other has wasted spark,

every sensor on the motor will more than likely not register with the v5 ecu. but if you pull it off you will be the first!!!

And V5 looks 4 plug, but only 3 of those are actually used.

we have just done a 94 tt conversion with a v2 with forrester ecu and afm if you go yellow and orange afm you will need a 6s

V2 engine plus a 4-plug BG.... a V5 ECU is the wrong choice plain and simple

Stick with the right generation ECU. You're going to want to get a V0-2 ECU. The plugs are physically the same, but the pinouts are completely different. You'll have to re-pin about half of the wires, which is a hell of a job. It's actually about the same ammount of work as it is to go to a V3-4 3-plug ECU, which lets you upgrade to yellow injectors, the orange AFM, and the STi ECU's.

I'm considering making an adaptor for such a conversion actually.

so i could go for a v3-4 one as i have some yellows i am wanting to use and i was gunna get a \orange afm

yes, but you would still have the problem of re pinning the ecu plus to suit
