Legacy B4 with 95 gt engine. Wont start

just wondering if anyone has an idea what would be wrong with a 2000 b4 legacy using a 95 gt engine

the dude said it does not run, only turns over,

from what i gathered, he said he used 95 longblock & manifold, with some of the 95 sensors and some of the b4 sensors...

and said he though he mite have put the spark plug or inlet wires round the wrong way??

potential problems are limitless... lol

so what im asking is, would the older sensors mix with the newer ecu? or would it need all the b4 sensors to run?

if i get the car, (b4 engine with BEB death comes with it) first thing i would do would be to swap over to the b4 manifold. check its getting spark. check its getting fuel.

then start swapping sensors?

any problems lieing ahead...?

id say hes mixed and matched sendes/sensors and b4 ecu wont pick up gt..

i bet if you put b4 manfiold and ALLL the sendors on itd work..

i didnt like how he said he mite have wired them the wrong way round? as if he chopped and rewired things??? why would you need to do that?

also what sensors could be causing it not to start. surely certain sensors aren't needed to start it?

yes mongrel as... thinking if i do get it, get a v7 shorty and go single turbo from the start haha. or get it working and wait for a good block/engine deal to pop up

as he dont know how many kms the new engine done, which to me means high kms...

I'm not 100% but I'm farily sure at least the coolant temp sensor is a different fitting between the two. Possibly the same with others?

yeah coolant temp sensor will defintaly be diffenrent i know htat for sure..

Im sure the other sensors will be different surely technology had developed a bit from 94 to 2000 lol

I rekocn we do single turbo bro and pull manifold off and can always compare to mels b4 if we need to look at whats meant to be there...

The b4 manifold won't bolt up to the gt heads without adaptors, if you were thinking of doing that

Sounds like you might need an angle grinder and a **** load of duct tape.

it comes with the old b4 motor as well..

so could put those heads on..

besides depends what heads he used by the sounds he musta used the gt heads..so need all the b4 sensors in or swap heads and manfiolds and sensors..

The adaptors are to change the bolt pattern. Much like wheels spacers that change from stud pattern like 5x100 to 114.3 or something like that.

Could get some made some where or make yourself if your keen on that sort of thing. Don't know where you can just buy them though.

The idle control valve will be a problem. Injectors are different also.

I reckon easiest way be to put b4 heads and manifolds and sensors on..what its meant to be like

Compare the cam angle sensor teeth on the backs of both LH intake cam pulleys, and the number of teeth on the crank sprocket too.

Yeah seen it before. The pulleys changed around 2000 and they won't start with the old pulleys.

Fit the pulleys from the 2000 engine to the 1995 engine.

what does it involve? would is be easyer/better to just fit the b4 heads & manifold to the shortblock?
