New clutch time. .

Hi all,

So the B4's clutch is starting to wear out - Slipping minorly on the hills if you give it too much gas etc.

Went to my local garage who quoted $1090.00 for a replacement. $630 for clutch kit plus labour.

This sound about right? Seems a bit pricey to me especially for a standard clutch.

Also, anyone recommend a suitable clutch for my car e.g heavy duty. Dont thrash my car but it does get a bit of abuse every now and then.

Yep, sounds about right to me. Always allow about 6 hours on a TT. They can give major problems trying to get the exhaust off the turbos.

Yeah I had my clutch done at the Subby dealership in Chch on the GTB and that sounds very reasonable, my clutch kit which was a genuine Subby one (same as wrx sti apparently) and the clutch kit was $690 incl gst, I dont see why people spend big money for H/D clutches on a standard car unless your a wolly and start doing launches ect, I priced up around four different clutches when I was looking and the genuine item was actually the cheapest believe it or not. Food for thought.
