Best Oil

I use to use valvoline 10w40 but then had a friend that can wholesale me shell oil for half the price.

I found that the valvoline seemed to disappear after awhile and I had to keep topping it up.

Shell stuff is better tho, Doesn't need to be topped up much.

Also any idea why mine goes black so quickly ?

Mines still goldy golden after 10,000kms

Maybe 1-3 days ? Less than 400km.

Cars done 210k total.

i wouldn't think that was bad, in my other cars 50kms & its goes dark

Yeah mine goes black real quick, I'm guessing its cause old engine plus hot turbos ?

If you check out the factory service manual, Subaru recommends either 5W-30 or 10W-40.

5W-30 is only specified in operating temperatures in the -minus oC range as it has a wider operating temperaure range than the 10W-40.

ok im so going to do what you should of..

OIL is the most important thing you pour into your car! $80 oil transfers heat better than $40 oil unless you got $80 oil on special for $40,

also $80 oil holds silicon oxide better, oxidation at higher temperatures, bla bla, look it comes down to Phosphorus and how much is in the oil because phosphorus is the shiz in oil and it cost $$$$$$$$$ so $80 has more and $40 has less simple, know what you’re putting in read the labels on the back
