Intermittent horn problem

rico

Recommended Posts

Hi, every now and then (more frequently lately) my horn will just go off by itself when Im driving around. If I push the steering wheel button a few times I can get it to stop eventually, but does take a while sometimes, and needless to say can be pretty embarrassing!

Also I can here something is loose behind the steering wheel when I turn the wheel a lot (like while parking). Sounds like coins or something rattling around, so Im guessing a bolt or something has come loose and is maybe whats causing the horn to go off?

So I want to take it apart to see whats going on but its the factory momo wheel with the airbag and don't want to cause any problems there, can I just disconnect the battery before taking it apart?

Cheers for any help.

Its a 1997 legacy gtb. Figured it prob wouldn't be as easy as just disconnecting the battery. I know something is loose in there and figure thats probably whats causing the problem just sux I have to pay to get someone to undo a couple bolts and check it out.

Sweet, thats good to hear. Im hoping I wont need to unplug the yellow airbag connector behind the wheel but if i do then plug it back in will this cause problems with the airbag light? Don't really see how it could but think I read somewhere that it does and then needs to be professionally reset?

when i removed my air bags all i needed to do was disconect the battery, then give it some time, just needs to let the capacitors discharge really, i left mine over night, just coz i started it then couldnt be assed hahaha

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
