Rough idle/stall!!

You haven't been adjusting the butterfly screw have you?

Have you disconnected everything off the manifold... like the brake booster hose, boost hoses, fuel regulator hose, charcoal canister?

Everything came apart when I rebuilt it, everything is back on except for the hose just below the throttle body (found that tonight!!). Thinking it goes to the brake booster?

Ahh yep thats right, so I could temporairly block off the PCV valve without disrupting everyting??

If I can find the hose haha I think I have it so yep I'll chuck it on. Just checking, goes from the crankcase breather to the manifold, right?

After all that you are going to need to take it for a run and bed the rings in very carefully. It's not good to start up new motors and have them rev away with no load on them.

Put it all together. Fill it with water and oil and check EVERYTHING. Start the motor and start driving it with a light load and not too many revs. Don't lug the motor though. Stop after a mile or so when the temp is up to normal. Jump out and have another look for leaks or things falling off. Start the motor and have a quick listen under the bonnet. If it's all good drive it with medium loads and let it build up to about 4000 then throttle off to about 1500, keep doing that, wind it up and then throttle off. Gradualy increase the load and revs between throttle offs. Keep doing it for fifteen minutes.

Hey Brett, yep seems to be running sweet as, clutch slave cylinder seal is broken tho so just gotta get a new one of those today or tomorrow, then I'll take it for a drive like you said cheers for that.

It's a new 2nd hand turbo I've put on it (upgraded from TD05 to a VF22) and I'm hoping like hell the internal wastegate is working sweet! Not too keen on up to 25 pounds of boost pumping my poor baby Got a boost gauge setup so I'll be watching it carefully.

There's an easy cure for that Ryan.... keep your foot off the throttle!!

Haha yeah. Under boost it cuts out at 4500rpm, independent of what its boosting. Weird aye?

Probably one of the pressure sensors on the boost control circuit.

Found out it was limp mode. Whole car is mint as now
