Version1/2 intake versus Version 3/4 design

Just wondered how the two different approachs to intake design stack up against each other. Has anyone gone from the early system to the later? Youd expect the later design (under manifold) to flow better having eliminated the series of 90 degree bends, but on the other hand it would suffer more from heat soak. Also the later design narrows considerably where it passes the power steering unit. Many are going for twisted turbos etc, but does anyone know the approx power limits of these standard intake designs? Obviously throttle response is another variable...

a guy on here tested them back to back with datalogs to see the power differences

more top end and lag from the v2 type - shorter runners, bigger plenum

more torque and response from the v3 type - longer runners smaller plenum

pretty much the same power overall, just a slight shift in the power band

i dont really like the v3 manifolds, the runners all flow differently. I dont really like the v2 ones either as they narrow a whole lot where the injector seats are. But that can be ported out a bit to solve that issue.

Thanks Optical, do you have any info the differences of the air filter to turbo design? Wonder if the later system with its 90 degree elbow removed is a noticable improvement over the early set where you have the two 90 degree bends one after the other?

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
