Buying a Legacy

Hey guys

I'm looking to buy a BH Legacy GT wagon and as I've never dealt with Subaru's before so I need some help. I test drove a private sale one on Saturday and it drove smoothly with good power, 107km, standard auto. However, I drove one from a dealer today, 62km, standard and auto too, but it struggled when I pushed it. The dealer said the petrol was old as it had been sitting in the yard for a while. I drove it for a while before I tried to floor it so it would've been warmed up enough. There was a good response when I was accelerating normally but when I put my foot down, there wasn't the same pull as the first car I drove.

Does this sound like a turbo problem to anyone? I realise no one may be able to answer this as no one has driven the car but any feedback will be appreciated. Car inspection services are looking over the car tomorrow.

most dealers if not all put the cheapest fuel in, which would be 91. This might explain the lack of power/responsivness etc.

Sorry I should've mentioned that it was a very noticeable difference in power. I would say it was a difference of running 7psi boost to 12psi.

I would pass and keep looking. If it feels like a dog, then dont buy it thinking itll be a quick fix

You'll find that 2 identical cars drive completely differently. I notice it all the time (Subaru mechanic). Some are absolute dogs to drive, others try to leave your head in the boot. Go with the better driving one.

Cheers guys. The cars are both in good condition but just wanted to try and get a reason between the powers of identical cars. Will get the inspection changed to the one that drives better.
