Low boost TT B4

So im going to try figure out why my car is running low boost.

Reason for low boost (Let me know the multiple ones ive missed)

low compression

boost solenoid

incorrect vac line set up

intercooler leak

stuffed turbo/turbos

2ndary BOV leak

BOV leak

Blocked up pipe

missing restrictor pills

My car symptoms

Running 7psi primary 9psi secondary

smells rich on warm up & no power

With vac setup normal BOV wont go off, have to go straight from manifold to BOV (vac leak in the pipe that goes off from mani-bov line?)

How do i make it free boost for sure?, have tried pulling off lines 10 & 23 next to battery and still 7 & 9.

More low boost causes/any ideas?

if you want to freeboost it ,take the vac line off the secondary wastegate actuator and put something in the vac line.

Was it boosting normally up untill now? :)

You forgot missing restrictor pills in various vac or boost lines. Are the lines all factory??

Right click and "view image" if you can't read it. Look for anything that says "orifice".

primary waste gate actualtor or missing restrictor pill in hose from primary compressor fitting to t junction

( this with waste gate solenoid contols boost on TT )

No never been boosting normally.

secondary is drivers side right? ive looked for the waste gate actuator but cant see it lol??

Theres a big actuator there but its for exhaust change over or inter cooler change over i think?

have edited in the restrictor pills, cheers

Not to sure if the lines are factory, was rebuilt just before i brought it and has never boosted enough

Ive tryed this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t10LQvwubDA, is this the same as free boosting or would it need to have pills etc in place for it to work? (doesn't change, still solid 7psi primary)

So if i pull the hose off primary waste gate it will free boost both?

i want to check it will boost both above normal?

oh and it has boost creep to about 10 in higher revs/gears

So i pulled waste gate hose off the primary waste gate and it boosted to 10 primary and i got to 15 secondary.

Means boost control/pills/vac leak/BBOD could be causing the low boost?

i will check for all the pills

Could the problem be part of why the BOV doesn't go when its hooked up correctly?

the little blue T peice between the manifold, i had to take it out & connected it straight threw to get the BOV to work. even with it connected it didnt boost any higher & then it had turbo surge aswell.

Na? it was said to have a brand new AFM when motor was put in (6000kms ago) as that was what caused the failure

Edit: not said to, it did i have the receipt. it was just alot cheaper than i thought they costed, between $100-$200 i think?

with wastegate hose off, it should have overspooled that turbo - it should have cut out (boost cut) or even blown that turbo

10psi = gay

either the primary turbo is stuffed or the engine isnt right (ie cambelt timing / afm etc )

yea if u where free boostin it should have reached about 19-20 psi that what mine used to do and cut when it had a problem and that was on the primary. secondry would work fine. id reset the ecu and go from there does it blow any smoke? have u cheeked play in turbos? list can go on in TTs lol easy solve single turbo it

the turbo was replaced about 1000kms before new engine (primary) with a second hand one but for $600 so i guessing it must have been mint lol? but yes could be stuffed, it was sounding pretty bad when i tried to plumb the bov up normal and then had turbe surge but could hear it from the turbo lol?

it was still building boost when it changed over

it switches over at 4250rpm with no VOD

i wouldn't be surprised if the ECV had been modded to make it switch over earlier, hence low boost on primary?

but then chucking it in a high gear and flooring it at low revs, it boost spikes to max of 15ish then drops back then to hold 7psi threw to change over?? and secondary boosts 15 then in higher gears has abit of creep to 17

so even hen primary was free boosting, secondary held boost like normal?

whats normal boost on secondary?

no smoke that i know of. haven't checked turbos, and yea the next step is single, was trying to collect up parts before chrismas holidays and do it then but haven't got them and the money is better spent other places atm

The small line that tee's off the primary bov should have a pill in it. If it doesn't you'll have low boost as is will leak out through that hose.

ok so next thing to do is scearch & locate all pills to make sure they are there.

Will it do any damage leaving the waste gate hose off for now? no boost cuts etc.

if the primary is stuffed im not going to replace it yet will just wait and go single when i can

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
