o2 sensor???

ok now after this car broke down( possibly the turbo still checking for other problems) we took the turbo off and noticed that a place for the o2 sensor was welded shut and then later found the o2 sensor plug sitting there. havnt found if there is a 2nd o2 sensor futher down but any ways..... would no o2 sensors cause the car to run rich as **** and be a little grogy cold?

ECU won't use the o2 untill motor warms up to temp, with it out it will effect the mix but not too sure if it would cause it to run horrably rich like you state.

it would back fire like a ***** and well you could smell unused petrol in the cabin. previous owners has said its always run rich but dont know why... just wont to try and find out more. ecu been stuffed with as well so might be that as well (nothing but carpet holding it down and 1 screw around the electrical)

could be i know they a spurting petrol out like a boss. started a compression test on the heads and found that out pretty good aye....

Injector seals mabey also, i had one go on me not long ago was doing the same thing

So is it fuel not oil going everywhere like you first thought?

its both. oil is all through turbo and exhast as well as heaps of unused fuel and the injectors splash fuel out

ok well coils are out as well as spark plugs so we could do a compression test and thats when we noticed the massive amount of fuel spurting out

When mine went there was fuel coming out the slip joins on the headers, and the front and back of the turbo. Wasnt good! fuel everywhere

havent checked injector colors will in a few days. parked at my mates as it was closer and he has bigger work area than me.

if you are talking about 02 sensor in the dump pipe i wouldn't worry about it....all mine were welded up 2! if it was the one in the cast manifold before the up pipe then yes it should have been in there.

you'll use more gas around town without an o2 sensor but you won't notice the difference on long trips

i found my car ran rich when it was unplugged.

If the o2 sensor is not running correctly it's possible it will move the fueling a couple of points out right through into open loop (full throttle)

so if i get the o2 sensor back in it wont run as rich and wont use as much fuel as a daily?
