1990 gt legacy gear ratio???

hey guys im new to this site and i have a question i hope u might be able to help me with. i have a 1990 gt legacy

just put a 1994 wrx ra gear box in the old girl apparantly it has a 4.111 front diff to match my rear.

The problem is at 100 its at 3500rpm wich seems real high and it uses a shit load of gas any ideas??? or is this normal? any help would be apperciated cheers clive.

that is correct i put a 4.4 box and diff in now i sit more around 3000 rpm at 100

make sure you go to introductions to and introduce yourself part of rules

no prob i went thru 3 gear boxs and decided to go 4.44 lol

It's perfectly normal.

Only option is to remove it and put something non RA in there.

Forget about rear diff ratio's; in this case it is the transmission ratios that are the reason for high RPM in 5th.

sweet as i have only just bolted it in so will make do for a bit also 2nd to 3rd is close as lol just got to get used to it. are they a good strong gear box thougth?

No stronger or weaker than any other 5MT of that time.
