Card or no card

I bought a euro (Golf) to build as a lightweight race car but its de reg, if i build it can i still use it on the track? what issues will i face? do i just get a authority card?

What are the requirements of puke?Hamptons? etc this car is just a pure race car not road at all..

All i want to do is track days like play day etc no competing etc, even so it looks like i just need to register for a log book for clubsport and become a member of a club.. Sweet thanks for that link

I would say you would just need a MSNZ authority card if its not wof'ed and reg'ed

Dont need an authority card either (they are just for cars with race seats/harness/cage that are road legal) If you arent going to get the car on the road you dont actually need anything to technically race it at track days. Just expect that scrutineers will be particularly fussy when looking over the car if they realise the car isnt road legal.

My suggestion is get a MSNZ logbook, as that will save alot of hassle as it allows scrutineers to see your vehicles race history (ie they can see its a race car - not some thing dodgy you picked up at turners the day before) and means you only get checked every 3rd event. Its also a good record of what the cars done if you want to sell it on.
