Sub Install into v8 wrx

hi guys

i'm just wondering if anyone has run into this before.

just gone to wire up my v8 and whilst looking for a route through the firewall for the power cable, i found the only way through appears to be via a bung directly behind the downpipe :-\

anyone else know of a suitable way through as i dont particularly want to melt the lead...

note, couldnt see much on the passenger side due to IC sprayer bottle

go and get an insulated bulkhead from an electrical wholesaler or a audio shop.. then make one cable run from the battery/fusebox to the firewall then from the firewall to the amp. much nicer finish..

From memory I have mine through the bung that goes around the air conditioning pipes. I'll have a look shortly and confirm this. Either that, or through the bung where the main wiring loom goes through, which is on the passenger side underneath the intercooler.

I dont know if WRX's have the same layout but id assume they do. I ran mine into the fusebox, then into the passenger side gaurd and into the cabin with the rest of the loom in front of the passenger door.

On my V9, next to the battery is an opening that allows you to pass the cable into the front gaurd. Push it through and it will surface around the lower door hinge area, there is a rubber grommet there that will give you access to the passenger compartment. Similar to what was said above.

Generally on subaru i prefer to use the bung/gap between the A/C pipes, unless it's a new model legacy with a solid plate there...

don't want to be running wires outside behind guards - unless they are cable tied to the stock loom
