subwoofer confusion???!!!

good evening everybody...just finished replacing 2 cv joints and boots str8 after work >:( and decided to hook up me new amp i got tadae.

Its a fusion amp like this one: http://www.getprice.com.au/Powerplant-2-Channel-Amplifier-PP-AM60020-Gpnc_152--35353660.htm

now i have 2 dual coil pioneers and found out that its never gonna run them 2 lol...so i decided to parallel wire into just one. cars wiring is good..been doing it for ages lol. but when i go to run the sub...the bass itself is REAL REAL low..even with the amp on max and volume pumping.theres just no bass ??? storys the same when i tried on my single coil fusion sub.

BUT...if i was to change HPF (i think) the subs will play treble just fine. its only the bass that just wont BLAST lol...

share some thoughts people...im gonna try muck around tomorrow and hopefully get somewhere.

I've got a DVC Pioneer running off an 800W 4 channel amp. The 4 channels are bridged to 2, and each of those runs 1 coil. I just had to make sure the amp was receiving a mono signal.

Try running each subs coils in series, but the 2 subs in parallel if you get what I mean. Then the amp will see 4 Ohms. Just remember that you're effectively trying to run 4 subs off a 2 channel amp. I don't think that amp will have enough grunt to drive them.

yeah it definitely wont have the g force to pump the 2 pioneers....that i know

however my problem is the fact that theres not much bass at all with everything set on max....im currently bridged to a single coil fusion 12"

You should be running the amp bridged with + to + and - to -. the remaining - and + on the sub should be wired togather.

I've never heard that before!!

Means your running the voice coils bridged in series.

I probably should of said that you run the - and + from the amp to the opposite coils.

have you tried running to one coil only? you should still get sound.

Yeah, just don't do it for too long. Its not supposed to be too good for the sub.

Actually, just had a thought. Stick both speaker wires on your tongue. A mate of mine did this once to check for power, thinking it can't be much worse than a 9V battery. Lets say he won't do it again!! ;D

What kind of headunit do you have? If you are running off the Mono output, then subwoofer hasn't been turned off, has it?

Also make sure there is no treble coming through. That's a sure fire way of killing your sub quick smart.

next thing to check is the gain and subsonic dials set your subsonic to 40Hz and your gain to about half.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
