  1. WRC developments I have heard good things over the years. PBMS is doing my current build so are an option. My current motor was a subtech/dodsons rebuild. Freight is cheap just find a old pallet and strap the motor down on a few wooden blocks where the mounts would go. Just need a saw and spare wood from anywhere. Being exited files can you compare them or are they protected. Did the tuner alter the wastegate duty before you did the run? those aftermarket solenoids change the boost level and so does the downpipe. If you had a tune to turn up the boost already it could have gone pretty high with that combo. Was it #4 bearing?
  2. @Andy_Mac is that only the 25 block or the 20 as well? Do you know which bearing?
  3. All the AVCS engines seem to make 300whp with stock turbo at ~21psi. If you want rumble then you are stuck with ej25 single scroll
  4. I’m still waiting for @Niran to sell his current EFR to @Andy_Mac so he can make more kw
  5. The efr have that titanium based wheel and billet compressor. That must add cost
  6. That is a bit sad. Have to go old skool and duct some of the scoop to cool the turbo
  7. What? if you can get to the actuator and move the lever shouldn’t you feel the baffle inside hit the two stoppers as you move it from open to close?
  8. https://trademe.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/turbos/listing/2249976533?rsqid=264d3b17f5824a2fad599688b6eb0bc7-002
  9. The ones I saw just had new pipes bent in so they got another like 2 cm so they could mount it lower and a little further forward. EFR seems to have a steap angle to the wastegate actuator and internal bov makes it a little bulky which isnt helped by the turbosmart dual port. But you can rotate them around a bit.
  10. Front mount turbo. Cant we do the USA thing and move the abs to make room?
  11. It’s a big heavy car for a 1.5L with the drain of AWD. You lose power to the AWD system so economy isn’t a big point for either engine.
  12. The software with it is likely more dangerous. See the bit about turning off anti virus etc. The official software may brick it as counterfeit. Heaps of brands do that if no official serial number etc can be read. They are cheap as no development cost when you steal design. CPU and chips maybe lower quality and spec too.
  13. Not much different to a obd2 reader. Just want it to be reliable while it’s flashing and not stop part way through.
  14. EFR has the BOV inside the housing so that recycling likely helps more than a bigger inlet. There was like some SAE stuff on inlet tracts somewhere. Best one was long taper in but not really practical space wise. Isnt there like metal spinners that can shape pipe like that in nz.
  15. Pretty much need cert for all seat changes where the seatbelt clip is mounted to the seat frame and doesn’t directly bolt in or is not OEM standard. Need to prove OEM crash certified blah blah etc etc But everything is a grey area so just call LVVTA tech in Wellington they are helpful. Easiest way is to check is to look at aftermarket seat mounts and see what years and cars they list against each.
  16. No, but I have a full genuine gasket rebuild kit if you want photos.
  17. Flatten the pipe to an oval shape. Still want to see the 4” side exit on the alto.
  18. More use to @preim with the alto. 4” dump pipe on the 660cc. Low mount may allow a 4” through the 90 degree bend at the front of the motor. @Niran have you sold @j_bone on the idea yet?
  19. Eventually upgrade 😂 At this rate sell the GR and get the VA
  20. Sadly my down pipe is smaller at 3” than rest of the exhaust 😭 Also explains why removing the cat in down pipe is so much more effective than any other cat. This looks like the same as the CNC head thing. What is good for NA is good for turbo just making the air pump aka engine work more efficiently. Which is the whole pressure differential thing. but mostly covered up by cranking up the boost since that is easier. Looks like two stroke exhaust, step up quickly to get gassed out then taper back down. Wonder if two stroke exhaust modelling would help design the sump pipe?
  21. Thinking about it wouldn’t this be even more exaggerated with e85?
