  1. You may not feel the slip at less than 3500 clamp with more than 220 (approx) Kw But I can assure you it will be slipping. My misunderstanding on the application versus a 6 speed already fitted oops! Why not have clamp force set as high as possible before flywheel deflection? 2800 clamp and 300kw? No slip? NO way! When i first set my wagon up it had 2800 clamp.....Slipped every-time I hooked 3rd to overtake from around 80kph. So quick to hit the rev limiter that the rev counter could not "see" it too. So a 4200lb clamp was fitted. It does not slip now. Set correctly too. The pedal is as light as a feather( almost) Whereas the 2800lb (exedy out of a box rated at 3500) required a leg off Hercules to hold the pedal down at the lights. Not to mention the excessive crankshaft loading! Clutches require careful setup to achieve the best result Maybe my wagon has more than 300 Kw?......Dont think so......Would be way to scary then! :o
  2. Oh yes.true! .230kw? Yes it will slip if you do not have at least 3500lb of clamp. Get it checked! make sure it is correct. Other than that its a simple job to fit the 6 speed to the motor Just Remember this too:- The diff is 3.9 So the rear diff will also require swap out. Then the rear axles need to be matched too. All good fun ;D ;D You will be well pleased once its fitted. Damn nice box they are!
  3. No problem I used 5 speed clutch in mine. Do get it setup for more than 3500lb clamp though. Otherwise it will slip. ;D
  4. Obviously a miss understanding. Thought this car was in the Whangarei rally. Therefore would require restrictor However it would seem this car is located in whangarei but is not a caged rally car. Having said that....It could be a caged rally car but only eligible for hillclimbs. Hope this clarifies it.
  5. Well thats very interesting Well worth a read. May reconsider my choice of oil. Its all about expectations versus application. Cost? No such thing as cheap. or free.
  6. 360 Kw With a 36mm restrictor? Really ??? And over 2.2 litre?
  7. Can you be a bit more specific? Their site has quite a lot of 10w40 grade oils: http://www.motul.com/nz/en/products?f%5Brange%5D=25&f%5Bviscosity%5D=28&page=1 Yes. oops :-[ Motul 300V Chrono 10W/40 For my upper Hp stuff. As for the Royal Purple vid? Against Motul?....I dont reckon there would be a lot of difference. Spec for spec of course
  8. And damn good it is too :D Just not listed here Motul for me ;)

aHH... The "which way is it likely to bend" theory for even less rotational weight compromise for required/estimated power before Ka..BOOm equation. ??? :-[
  10. just change it more often. (simple) good for gearboxes with auto components inside them. like slipping clutches and such like stuff ;) Auto trans oil is a great liquid cleaner for steel bits.....Not a terrific lubricant though. Easily pumped for cooling too.
  11. Fail to see how this could speed up the change of axles or the diff
  12. no Bango bolt for turbochargers are oil restrictive and carefully sized to each turbocharger bearing setup and application. The one into the block wont fit either. As in oil/water or water/oil swap out
  13. yes. Cv Inners (pinned type) ok with inner axle. But not the front axle or the outer Cv through the wheelhub. Inner cage on Inner Cv can be swapped to correct spline mismatch
  14. Leave it in.Less drone on the 6-7 hour trip. Probably about the same on fuel. However that depends on how often you stand on the gas pedal too Quiet does not attract attentions of the unwanted stopper too. (copper)
  15. Are the injectors de capped.? Could be why it was flooded
  16. true they are further:- Nolathaned is the best option for stiffness/control. There is a 560gram difference in weight of lower arms.Steel/Alloy. Alloy respond quicker due to less weight. Negligible but noticable difference.
  17. probably just a badge change AS Joker suggests My wagon \'91 vintage Says AWD Wagon on the tail gate. In Gold lettering ;D It once was a GT. ;D ;D
  18. I know you said fuel is being pumped, But? Have you checked the pressure? ??? Less than 40 psi? will give these issues. Failing that AFM would be my next guess. Scanner is the best way to find out.
  19. Can do. Probably around the $1000 mark by the time it is reinstalled.( syncro rings replaced) Without doing the clutch
  20. yep belt slip by the sounds of it Or stuffed alternator bearing. i.e:- on the way out!
  21. For endless this is the procedure. VERY important not to overheat! Bedding in procedure IMPORTANT: When bedding these ENDLESS brake pads it is very important not to over heat them, the end result from this will be your braking system not operating to its full potential and you will not receive the full benefit from these ENDLESS brake pads. It is recommended by the manufacturer that this bedding in procedure is carried out to achieve the best performance from your brake pads. The bedding procedure is best carried out on closed road conditions. Ideally temperatures of 400 to 450 degrees need to be achieved to properly bed these pads, the best way to achieve this is with several high speed slow downs, 160km down to 50kmh done over a 3 to 4 lap period with cool down time between slow downs to avoid over heating the pad surface. Your braking during bedding procedure should not exceed 70% to 80 % of what you would do during race conditions. This applies a layer on brake pad compound onto the rotor face. The Braking power will steadily increase as the pads start to wear in and match your rotor face. ENDLESS brake pads are not compatible with competitor compounds. All competitor compounds must be removed from the rotor face by either lightly skimming the rotor before use or using Emery paper. This will ensure your new brake pads bed-in correctly, and failure to do this may result in poor braking performance and/or shuddering. Best brake pads ever! ;) :D So as a road car, Simply carry out the bed in procedure from 100kph down to around 20 kph 5-6 times. DO NOT left foot your pads to bed in as it will overheat them.
  22. All plate style clutches work the same way. Clamped between two steel plates is a driven plate. Two ways to release. Pull it apart (two steel plates) or push it to cause it to pull apart. :D
  23. Can\'t wait till he asks how to change the failing clutch plate. ;D :D :
  24. Cut the lug off behind the turbo at the top (around the 2 O\'clock mark on the gearbox) Then you can get the gearbox off and back in a hell of a lot easier (when you inevitably have to do a clutch replacement one day!)
  25. noted F N toe rags! > Why cant peeps leave stuff alone they dont own! > Makes me both MAD > and Sad :( "Back in the 50\'s" OMG im old! "You could leave ya car on the street with the keys in it and it would stay there". According to my late Grandad. "But because you were so drunk when you left it, you often had to wander the streets to find the bloody thing again" ;D ;D Seriously thats what Grandad said! Here\'s hoping you gets ya bugeye back in a reasonable state, And Sooner rather than later.
