  1. It takes a few mins after the cars warmed up typically before it does anything. Which is why I'm thinking it's the element.
  2. My fuel economy is still pretty good which is throwing me off. Really thinkin the element is stuffed but sensor alright. So cold its f****'d but when warmed up its workin sweet
  3. Is it the front or rear or both O2 sensors that the ecu uses for its afr reading? I've got a sneaking suspicion something is wrong with one of mine. With romraider it'll sit at 14.7 regardless of behaviour and then suddenly starts reading. Haven't managed to narrow it down to whether it's just not reading when cold or if just random. If it's not warmed up will it just sit stagnant at 14.7 or does this sound more like an electrical gremlin playing tricks on me?

    Head unit advice

Kenwood would probably be what your after for a cheaper one with a screen. They're moving up in the market with jvc being their cheap brand. Seem to have good features and quality without the mark up of alpine and the likes. Was seriously considering one but I was weak and just went alpine. Their new ones seem to get all around good reviews and are 100-200 cheaper than alpine for similar units Edit: only 2x pre out on that Sony above so not ideal for a sub
  5. Mine from japanparts was around 380. But foolishly bought something else aswell so ended up just over 400 and got pinged for gst and all their surcharges at customs. Japan parts has the selection for each style of hvac for the 4th gens and only took around a week to get here from japan. Fitment is perfect too.
  6. If i had to put money on it i'd say its down to the increasing size of people worldwide. Wouldn't want to lose sales purely because someone can't comfortably fit in the seat. Mine will be a long drawn out process since i'd kind of like to get a set of heated leather ones to match what i currently have. And if not that then i'd probably go for a newage sti seat. Would save a bit of weight on motors and such.
  7. Newer recaro's would. The ones knockoutgiant had didn't look like they had them but could be wrong. When the facelift legacy's came out they changed the seats, to be wider and flatter so way less support. Just hop on trademe or something and you'll be able to see the difference between the two styles. I was going to chuck some b4/gtb (3rd gen) ones in mine but to stay lawfull they would have to be rev d, 2001 and later, as as far as i'm aware they are the only ones with seat airbags. Having previously had a 3rd gen legacy i can tell you they were much much better and are near the top of my list of things to do
  8. Just means you have to put that extra in at the end. Look at the new fa/fb whatever they are engines. Oil filter on top. No way of pre filling those.
  9. Knockoutgiant has an evo racaro in his bit unless you put one in with airbags it isn't exactly legal without a cert. is yours a pre or post facelift? Mine is a post facelift and i'll be swapping it out for a prefacelift seat at some point. Pre's are the same as 3rd generation legacy's which were miles better
  10. Probably is a bit steep. For that price you'd be expecting it to have pretty much all the options ticked.
  11. Yea 16k is on the upper end for an auto, manuals seem to command a premium. So are still 17-20ish Is the non spec b one nz new?? Is a 2.0l like the imports but has the nz new headlights
  12. Welcome to the forum. Firstly, are they imports or nz new? Jap imports stuck with the 2.0l engine for the facelift (has curved up bottom edge on headlights rather than sharp corner) whereas nz went to the 2.5l one. Each have their own strengths and weaknesses. If both cars are the facelift ones then the 2yrs difference probably doesn't make much difference. Will come down to how the last owner treated them more than age alone. Just the general appearance of the spec b is much sharper. Never did drive a non spec b before getting mine, but knew i'd always be dissapointed if i didn't go for the car i really wanted, absolutly love mine and would make the choice again in a heartbeat. $15999 is on the cheaper side, not too cheap to be wary though. Worth spending the money to get the one you decide on checked out by a mechanic to make sure there's no hidden issues.
  13. You're an absolute legend man. You wouldn't happen to know the part number for the half moon cover things too?
  14. Need to get some part numbers to replace rocker covers for a rev c 3rd gen legacy, have vin number and all that if needed. Does anyone on here work for a dealership/have access to a parts database. Tauranga subaru won't tell me the numbers without first buying from them and want to have a look at other options before going to them.
  15. So if they are in series then wouldn't you say that if you plug just one in then absolutly nothing would happen? I know with mine if i do just the passenger one and turn the ign on it cycles the fans and does all the ticking and clicking and what not. So that would indicate its doing its diagnostic thing as it should without needing both. Comes up quite often on US based sites where they talk about only needing one set for flashing
  16. From what i've read it varies between models/ years some need both others not.. Mine has been able to pull roms from ecu and flash back using just the one under the passenger side carpet. Pretty much right at the top right near the glovebox. Also if its 07+ it'll most likely be a canbus ecu which doesn't need to have the connectors connected at all. According to romraider atleast. Haven't tried doing it with mine which i assume is canbus since it needs to run the canbus setting in ecuflash to work. Edit: you could also say if mine is a canbus ecu then me plugging in one of the connectors might not be even doing anything for flashing and that its working because it doesn't need to have them connected at all. I should probably look a bit deeper into this.....
  17. Don't use the bov line off the manifold unless its a rev d. Reads lower than the manifold see's due to the hose 10 tee bleeding vac off. Any of the other lines that come off the top of the manifold will be better. Doesn't have to be right at the manifold. Anywhere on the line is fine.
  18. Those options on it are pretty mint aye. Would love the brembo's and recaro seat
  19. You're a bloody legend marky. If anyone can make owning a airtrek cool it'd be you. Also you sussed out if a tactrix openport 2.0 will work on it. Will be finished tuning mine in a week or two if ypu wanna give it a go
  20. Why marky why Thought about starting a save marky from mitsi's petition after you mentioned it the other day. Haha
  21. That weird one ain't even in the standard kit of f'd up looking security bits, just checked..
  22. Didn't quite sound the same as the ticking it does when the battery is getting low
