  1. A little bit expensive. Subaru quote $1420 here: http://www.subaru.co.nz/Service/Service_Estimate.php its a full fluid replacement & spark plug service.
  2. I believe 2006+ has an aux in. Don't think the pre facelift has an aux in. I have seen an iPod adaptor for it on trademe though.
  3. why? 3" down to 2.5" sounds like a smarter idea.
  4. No way to change the NAV to english. You can get the non NAV model pocket to put in there. I have a BL and a BP. To replace the stereo you need to get the panel kit which includes the A/C controls. It costs about $500 to source in new zealand so try and get one with the car.
  5. The Auto's have nothing on the manuals performance wise. But as autos go they are fine.
  6. I know its old but I have been to Alex a few times now. Seems friendly, thorough and professional and I will continue to use him.
  7. If the 3.0 is 6 speed then it will have Bilsteins and different wheels. All GTB's should have Bilsteins, and also have the GTB bumper. Just check the shocks, they should be yellow. 8. I have a 3.0R-B manual and an auto 2.0GTB. The 3.0R is excellent. Performance is very good for a 3.0 and also reasonable on gas. The turbo has more mid range torque but probably not as much top end power in auto form. It also sounds wicked with a bit of an exhaust on it. I have had no issues with my 3.0 at all in 40k's of ownership. In manual the 2.0 turbo will be faster than the 3.0 easily. If not modifying the car past an exhaust/intake/tune then the 3.0 is easily the better choice for me. Fully recommend it. If I was buying again I would get a GTB manual as I have already reached the limit of practical mods on my 3.0.
  9. edit oops, thought you had a BP5.
  10. true... not too sure how well oiled the 3.0 is...
  11. hehe yeah, its only a second behind me in laptimes though! I did a 2.00.24 best. First time out so looking for a sub 2 minute next time. I might also splash out on semis.
  12. eeek edited. Picture has moved. Will post again
  13. cabin filter replacement. http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3773
  14. Pollen filter is behind the glove box. Take the hinge out of the side of the glove box and its in a pull out panel behind that.
  15. Plugs were $50 a pop from Subaru. Platinum/Iridium will last around 100kms. You could user coppers but you would need to replace them about 4 times in 100kms.
  16. Cost me $1300 to get my 100k done. Copied from the service website: Technician Service Operation Upper engine cylinder clean Warm up engine. 17. Welcome to the 6 Cylinder 6 Speed club They just love to be revved!
  18. Maybe you could try a 2003 Legacy GT manual? I have seen one or two around for near that price. They go pretty good, but might not be to your tastes.
  19. should be able to fit okay with the right tyre. I have 18x8.5 40 offset with rolled rear guards. 19x8.5 45 offset might negate the need for the roll.
  20. gutted its auto... Looks better than mine lol
  21. These look pretty cool IMO. Can get em from hyper.
  22. I have both the 2.0 GTB and a 3.0R-B spec manual. The 3.0 is a nice engine and has given me no trouble in 30k kms. I find the power very smooth once its above 3krpm. It loves to rev. Overall very good. The 2.0GT in auto is a bit laggy down low but has very good mid range torque. Not as exciting as the 3.0 above 5k rpm. Its very happy pulling 3-5k rpm. I have had to have the main seal replaced and it has cost me a bit as I did the waterpump/cambelt etc at the same time. This is probably due to not being maintained that well before I got it. I'd drive both and even throw in a 2.0R if you want economy. As for fuel use, they both use very similar amounts, (9.7km/L in the 3.0)(10.3km/L in the GT). The GT will use more if you thrash it though. Things to look for would be: -Watch out for worn seats and interior, particularly the seat side bolsters and steering wheel. -Try to look for something that appears to have been maintained. -Evidence of cambelt done on a 2.0. -Check for yellow Bilstein shocks (although I think all the imports might have them). -Look for a unique one, with unique body items. (personal preference, I just like my cars to be a bit different, plus aftermarket bits are very expensive to import). -Try and get one with an aftermarket stereo. The factory items cost over $500 to get rid of. If you have any questions, fire away. Cheers, Logan.
  23. Nah, prefer them standard. Painting stockers black just looks cheap to me...
