  1. Title still says Saturday @RAYDEO @liddca Get Dylan involved too
  2. So brembo sized handbrake set up but with Subaru 2-pot rotor diameter... fascinating. Edit: That means that brembo rears should bolt straight up with a standard STI sedan rear rotor right?
  3. Can't remember exactly but it was somewhere around there. I was exiting one of those two lane roundabouts.
  4. It must be your twin then, fairly sure it had bbs wheels too!

  7. Think I saw @Timmah in Christchurch today/Saturday out towards the motorway around midday ish. I waved at you but I'm not sure if you saw me. Wagon looked tidy anyway
  8. Welcome! This may or may not be of use to you.
  9. This thing is pretty cool. Looks like someone has poured a lot of time and effort into this. Stolen from facebook more photos here: Facebook link
  10. You need 10 posts to access the buy/sell pages. Make a post in the introductions section to get you started. Good luck with your search.
  11. Does $200k buy you one of the warped carbon tub MP4-12Cs or is that enough to buy a straight one? I'm not really up to date on my Mclaren pricing.
  12. It's all about that "risk" rating. The ACC levy portion of bike rego is huge. http://www.acc.co.nz/for-individuals/other-motorists/your-rego-and-vehicle-risk-rating/index.htm
  13. Get a second rear view mirror, the kind that sticks onto the windscreen. Then slap it on right in the passengers line of sight. Job done
  14. Google chrome on iOS It is just behind one click on the menu. Really not hard to find. But if you don't know it is there I guess it would be hard to 'stumble across' Edit: That being said it is right there at the top in announcements.
  15. Depending on how good the water supply is in your area you could put tap water in it. Distilled is definitely the "correct" choice though. There is nothing too challenging about replacing coolant so you could do it yourself. You just have to be patient and ensure you have bled all of the air from the system. It can be a bit tricky on subarus and you may have to jack the front of the car up a bit to do it. Watch some videos and you'll be able to decide for yourself if you want a shop to do it or not. Edit: If the coolant isn't that old and is still a nice bright green you shouldn't need to replace it. Just top it up and make sure the system is bled.
  16. If the coolant is brown then you should really drain it and flush the block/radiator and replace it with fresh stuff. How long has it been since it was last changed? Fairly sure the level isn't supposed to be at the top of the coolant reservoir. All of the Subies I have owned have had the level as you described, if you try and put more in it will usually just push it out into the overflow when it gets up to temperature. The overflow however should be between the low and the high marks on the bottle. The level you described means that air has likely sucked into the system and it will need to be bled.
  17. Edit: At least it was the gearbox and not the pistons/rods flying through the block at 10,000rpm
  18. Share the clip? Not sure if I want to hear the sound it made or not...
  19. TBH that isn't really THAT expensive for a dealer. You could for sure do it cheaper yourself but... Is the oils made from gold? How much do you normally pay for your oil? $77 for 5.2L of 5w30 oil (assuming it is quality stuff) is similar to what you would pay off the shelf at supercheap or similar. $200 of that is trans oil which as @willisnz said is just expensive stuff. You could probably get this cheaper elsewhere but it is annoying to change in an auto IMO. Another $120 is gst. Labour is expensive at a garage because that's what it takes to run a business with overheads and qualified staff. In that breakdown they are also changing every serviceable fluid/filter. Whether that is actually necessary is up to you. I'm not saying $918 dollars isn't a lot of money, but if you look at the breakdown they really aren't ripping you off. If I were you I'd do the service myself however. Edit: The cabin filter is pretty overpriced, but everyone seems to do that for some reason. If you look at cost vs retail for somewhere like ripco. Cost is usually $20-30 on a cabin filter and they put rrp at $70-90. Not sure why the industry standard for cabin filter price is so high when they really aren't expensive to manufacture.
  20. Is the thud coming from under the gear lever? Or further towards the rear of the vehicle? You said it won't happen when braking or accelerating. Are you releasing the clutch with no throttle input when it happens then?
  21. There is a genome muffler off of a legacy on trademe at the moment, might work with some modifications? https://www.trademe.co.nz/1325824575 Im not sure what the longer tip would look like on a Forester.
  22. https://www.facebook.com/groups/sam.legacy/permalink/1406891282710647/?sale_post_id=1406891282710647 That link should work for when you get accepted.
  23. Welcome along! This website is great for working out wheel fitment. http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=215&aspect=45&diameter=18&wheelwidth=7.5&offset=55&width2=235&aspect2=45&wheel_size=17&wheel_width=9&offset2=58 I can't speak for rubbing issues as I've never owned a legacy like yours but as far as rolling circumference is concerned they seem to be a good choice. Check your distance to strut and guard clearance using the information from the link to get a better idea though.
  24. I've used these three before and had good service from all of them. There are many more though. http://www.subspare.co.nz/ http://strongforsubaru.com/ https://www.subaruspeed.co.nz/
  25. Try ringing up a few Subaru wreckers. I'm sure you'd find one, bet you could get one in the right colour even.
