  1. confession time. i haven't modded my car since i got it back from the last tune in june.. 3 months already after doing something to it almost every day/week since i got it last november. not sure if i should feel guilty or proud
  2. could be all kinds of things but best place to start is the grounds
  3. target audience for brand new wrx is not exactly the enthusiast tho is it, most of us either save for the sti or go 2nd hand sti for cheaper
  4. bro what crybabies are complaining, fwiw i was just being sarcastic with my complaints lmao. have put my votes in already. thanks guys this is a job of passion with no pay and done in your free time, which ya'll do really well!
  5. literally crying myself to sleep every night since i heard the news mate. i was the hero ClubSub deserves, but not the one it needs right now
  6. nah got mine locally from pbms think it came off another car that was being scrapped , you may find a better deal that way just make sure you get everything. you should do it, its one of the few mods that when done you don't have any regrets about because it's pretty easily worth every penny. coolfactor 10/10, functionality 10/10.. maybe a bit out of place in this thread with knob obsessed folk but i just love dat flap
  7. do it !!!! of all the mods on my car this is my most favourite
  8. this is just drivers in general and the behavior is fairly universal. certain members of population seem to have quite a load of road rage and do not like to be overtaken at all. some will hold / block the passing lanes, some will try cage you in, speeding up / changing lanes as you try over take etc. this is the part where you drop your ego and if at all the option is there, take a breather and fall back a bit.. or downshift and get the hell outta there if safely can
  9. dude thats awesome, next time you are taking me for a ride to show off those epic gains haha
  10. @Kiwiflyboy is this one of your air vehicles?
  11. look at this thread, the description, the pics, the dyno chart... have spare underwear ready he's asking for 35k, that is indeed more than the 30k you are looking to spend, but on the plus side you won't need to modify it or have it retuned, everything is done already so you just drive it and have fun. who knows he may even be flexible on pricing.
  12. pretty sure the v7 (and possibly early v8s) were the last of the lot to get the ej207 with the forged internals (or what some call 'semi forged')? not sure its worth comparing failure rates in US to here, they have pretty S*** fuel in most places (like 91/93) and im gonna generalize here but they seem to have a huge number of people claiming to be tuners with no mechanical background and seems to be commonplace to just download & flash any random rom without tailoring to the specific car with specific set of mods.
  13. lol my inner modder now lives vicariously through you so i need you to recoup as much money as possible so you can keep modding the crap out of the RS , it's in both our best interests
  14. did you mean for it to be a 1 day auctioN? looks like it closes at 7 tonight
  15. as others are already covering the engine replacement side, i'll take a crack at mileage. i see you are moving from (or already have moved) UK , not sure from which part exactly but i assume could be an area where long commutes are quite common (as it is in australia).. in some instances that 200,000k could have come from about 3 years of commutes at mostly 100kph, in others it could be from 10 years of start stop driving under heat soaked conditions. those long commutes aren't as common here so when we see 200,000km for example, we generally assume it as having experienced greater wear and tear not just running from those k's but also wear and tear involved over a greater number of hours, greater cycle count etc. mind you it's not just the engine but also other parts like gearbox.
  16. is there a particular brand ? also sorry for stupid question but what is re manufactured, is this like refurbished? edit : nvm googled it : Remanufacturing is "the rebuilding of a product to specifications of the original manufactured product using a combination of reused, repaired and new parts". It requires the repair or replacement of worn out or obsolete components and modules.
  17. ye coilover are significantly easier to deal with haha. someone on this thread has already mentioned it.. it's dangerous, it's dodgy, but i know my cousin has done the same thing... he used zip ties while his springs were compressed and used a rattle gun + vice trick which was also suggested here. i don't endorse this especially when the actual tool can be purchased so cheaply but i guess if you're in to that sort of thing, then yeah there are ways to get the job done. just make sure you explain to anyone helping you what they're signing up for and make sure your car is safely out of the way too
  18. bro you arent listening , everyones said it already. they need time to settle, especially brand new stiff springs. i'm pretty sure it's like 2-3 weeks to settle properly. after this you go get a wheel alignment. perfectly fine to drive in the mean time but things will all get better once they set in and 4 wheel alignment done.
  19. yuck, just yuck! why is it even such a big thing to put shopping trolleys on top of cars in USA?
  20. his redline is like 6k rpm, wouldn't the power band be suuuper short based on the turbo you selling for cars of that gen?
  21. sgt on 98 should easily average 13l/100km..could probably nana drive and do close to or better than 10L/100km too but would advsie against running any turbo car on 91, or even 95 if 98 is available.
  22. yeah it would be more efficient , atleast that's what you can tell your mrs lol. the truth is that even though it might be more efficient off boost, you're gonna spend as much time as humanly possible ON boost, becuase it's just do darn addictive like everyone else, i feel life is too short to not enjoy boost atleast for a while.. do it mate. the s-gt in stock form is not particularly thirsty either and still has a mode to control that lead foots effects a bit (think its that eco or s-drive or whatever) so you'll be fine.
  23. is the rear really sitting lower if you measure from ground to jack points? my front and back are equal height from ground to chassis but arch gap is quite a lot greater up front than in the rear, though this might just be a bugeye design issue (or intential, dunno)
  24. noo whats the point of paying all that dough to get a plate that just serves to advertise the cars make/model etc. not very original imo . i say keep thinking about it till ya find something worthy and just stick with standard plate until then
