  1. It's more complex than that... there are two pipes in the up pipe yes... but each one of those pipe connects to two exhaust ports... so if the lengths are not equal, the pulses will still collide when they get to the up pipe.
  2. Yes it is... integral means intrinsic in this case. A twin scroll turbo without a twin scroll header would essentially not be a twin scroll system. Pulse isolation is a big part of the system... you only get that with EL.
  3. EL is an integral part of the twinscroll system... so yes. I think this is true... NZ spec STi were 2.5 single scroll... JDM spec STi 2.0 twin scroll... there are some Singapore spec 2.0 STi single scroll around too.
  4. The back pressure will be insane... you'll probably melt everything from valves to turbine
  5. If you are spending money... go to top feed... side feed is too limiting. There are a few affordable top feed rails around... fittings can get a bit pricey and need an FPR... but then you have a million more options for injectors... I plan on getting some XSpurt injectors from MSEL.
  6. Can I ask why? Are you going to be running a giant turbo that won't spool until 6000/7000 rpm?
  7. I wouldn't do it personally... the sock on the pump is all you have between the crap floating around in your tank... and the injectors.
  8. Seem to be quite popular with the towing crowd. I've gone diesel now too, love the torque so much after 18 years of none turbo Legacys with no bloody torque or power to speak of.
  9. what seal costs $230 from Subaru but is $30 on partsouq?
  10. What exactly is wrong with the idle? looks stable to me.
  11. makes sense... the torsion bars on mine are brutal... when i first got it, it had no spoiler and I had to disconnect the boot release because it would fly open so fast I though it would smash the rear window one day.
  12. it will just run on what info it has... i.e. the TPS. it will run like s***... but better than with a bad MAF.
  13. no... it's an STI trunk... GC era... maybe that's the difference.
  14. It will be fine, they are very solid... that's why they weight about 10kgs. Mine has 4 bolts only.
  15. Yes you can check just by pulling the side covers back a bit... you just need to be able to see all the alignment marks. Off by one tooth doesn't mean it will run bad through the whole range... but could make the idle a bit s***. You really need a proper vacuum gauge... not a boost gauge. 20 inHg is a healthy engine... less might be badly sealing valves... or cam belt off a bit. Do the compression test too.
  16. Have you checked the cambelt is on right? You could be one tooth off on one of the cam wheels. Also have you checked the vacuum with a proper gauge? I know the ecu manifold pressure looked ok... though more borderline tbh.
  17. Pick a part injectors? You are brave. Have you done a compression test?
  18. Have you tried unplugging each injector in turn to see if any of them don't make a difference to the idle? It could help isolate the problem down to one cylinder.
  19. The V5/6 did have a factory immobilizer option... it's in the wiring diagrams... and my plugin motec ecu has a pcb switch for selecting immobilizer present or not.
