  1. Has anyone seen a wiring diagram floating around for a BE5? The window motor fuse sometimes blows when the engien is cranked, also the ABS light comes on. Very odd...
  2. has anyone got a 42mm pipe bender i could borrow/hire?
  3. my spec c quick rack is 2.2 turns lock to lock... i think normal sti is 2.5 turns
  4. so when are you going to see this max speed on your display?
  5. you will also need custom discs or custom hand brake shoes for the rear
  6. It's not that big a deal?
  7. note that defi boost gauges tend to read about 0.1 to 0.2bar too high
  8. might depend on how customisable the ecu is with open source tuning software. im not sure whether you could configure a new map sensor with it or not. otherwise yes you're stuck with max 1.5bar the v8 sensor reads and yeah it's by the throttle body and bolts straight into the manifold
  9. v3 -6 sti map sensors are 1.7 bar max. so you could use one of those to be cheap
  10. reliability is unchanged decapped top feeds have a decent spray pattern decapped side feeds have a rubbish spray pattern, in fact they dont even have a spray pattern both will work but economy is bad for the latter
  11. law says you must give them an opportunity to fix. if they dont do a satisfactory job (as verified by 3rd party) then you can get it done and have them pay through small claims court. at this stage, the next step is theirs
  12. chances are you'll never find those wheels with the high offset you will need to fit them under the guards with spacers or changing to v9+ sti hubs (which add 10mm at the front in themselves) nothing wrong with spacers though, if you get legit ones
  13. hmm maybe the ones i saw were secretly using adapters
  14. pretty sure there are 2 pots on some BH/BE from factory, you'll just have to find those particular hubs from somewhere
  15. It'll work with just a shortblock swap, but it'll be crap with all the stock turbo gear on it
  16. another diy here http://www.rs25.com/forums/f105/t59278-diy-hood-struts.html I also have a GF boot gas strut, but it's so damn powerful i get the impression it's going to bend my bonnet in half... will see what happens. better than the stock bonnet stay thing flapping around everywhere. on the prova legacy it has some very nice little prova eiffel gas struts, they work very very well and are super tidy
  17. the wires frequently break near the plugs, check for that. It's unlikely the sensor has broken
  18. there is a neutral switch in the gearbox that connects to the ecu. i have no idea what the ecu does with it though
  19. My data shown was recorded at hampton downs, not a very fast track - ive attached a graph of the speed data. You can see it's pretty comparable to road speeds at mostly 50 to 120kph. There is no obvious climb in temps during those low speed sections. I would expect the WAIC setup to act similarly though as the WAIC radiator will function better at high speeds just as a FMIC would. I think the speed is largely negligible here. Also the intercooler isnt failing to shed the heat, it never goes above 46C the entire time, what you're seeing is the temperature hysteresis reducing (40C at the start 43C at the end) making it look like the temps are climbing. I still have concerns at the rate of temperature climb of your setup when on boost, the factory tmic must be shockingly bad. A larger IC/ more water/ higher water pump speed/ larger radiator may help your setup. You can see in your graph the IAT temp takes over 3 minutes to drop 45C to 30C after one quick bit of boost... heatsoaked system? I'll reserve my opinion until more data is available Also grab the latest G4 firmware and software, much better datalog analysis tools are provided but be sure to check the upgrade info as a few settings need to be checked http://www.linkecu.com/support/downloads/pclink-download
  20. bad ground or noise on the signal wire
  21. Great, some real data! Contrary to what you may think I am actually genuinely interested in how well the WAIC setups work. So if we look at the longest on boost segment, 460 - 500seconds, IAT goes from about 30C to 60C in 40seconds. Comparably, the FMIC setup goes from 30C to 45C after 8 minutes NB, your ECT is getting worryingly high after that on boost period, could the intercooler radiator be blocking flow to the coolant radiator? More analysis on the cool down time needed I think, i'll have a dig through my datalogs to find some comparable data
