  1. Thanks mate, it's abit rough at the mo as a few earthquakes and being sitting in a mates backyard for a while it got abit scuffed up and the carbon fibre bonnet needs the clear coat completely replaced lol...but give it 6 months and a respray it will be back to good as new.
  2. +1 to the above...Gotta love science!!
  3. Hiding in the top left...Soon to ship to Aux and get a tune
  4. Had a look at my track gc8 in chch, looking pretty good...Time to find storage and get the car shipped to aux then get it tuned.
  5. If u have a boot lid with an sti spoiler on I would happily swap on my gdb, except my lid is in white but no holes and all smoothed over.
  6. Chat to Tony at RDL perforamance in Hornby, he has almost finished the setup on my track car..Should have it running before Koom
  7. I got transferred to Aux in a miminal notice kind of promotion so it went on ice for a while while I cleared my student loan and other debts. To save on time...I ended up grabbing another members forged shortblock engine/td06 twisted setup with a link also last year to swap into the gc8. Was initially going for 300kw atw stuff then realised I ultimately need more seat time, and learn to drive properly then the ol "moar horsepower" adage, so td06 setup will be more then enough for me...One day I will go for the 3076 setup I have always wanted haha. Was a suprise when my mechanic posted on my facebook quoting Frankenstiens "it's aliivvvve" haha. The amount of work he has done on it, and the minimal amount he has charged has made the time it took worth it once you take into account quality of the fabrication work. Just the timing is a bit of a bugger as blew my money on another subi haha,as didn't think it will be done towards end of year . Ah well at least it's done so no complaints from me. On the plus side - I now have a full running gear v8 sti to transplant goodies into track car one day
  8. It lives!!! Mahahahahahah 4 years off the road my track car is now running....Bit of a bugger my mechanic has impeccable timing haha I just bought another subaru but ah well haha, last few tweaks and then ship it up to Aux.
  9. Several questions Genome Muffler http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/exterior/auction-754131558.htm Will this fit my my 02 v8 sti with some obvious welding adaption? As I currently have a full 3" exhaust including downpipe? Currently I have a huge ass cannon muffler with a big 5" tip (I think I can easily fit both my fists lol), it is insanely loud and already getting looks from the local officers on the motorway when I go past. Last time I had a muffler that big years ago I received multiple noise infringements. Will this help quiet things down a little? With the STI muffler on, does this help ease issues for WOF's as it is an genuine optional part? Or is that one of the local urban myths that has been floating around for years?
  10. Now got a project to focus on, I'm back to caring about cleaning etc...Polished the muffler, took about an hour as previous owner she didn't once clean it..It has come up quite nice and also spent some time on the interior, the windows had sooo much crap come off them so that should fix the fogging up issue now. Found more little bits and pieces to sort now, couple interior panels with busted clips/missing screws, so that is next on the agenda to sort then save up and buy a ton of car cleaning stuff to work on a decent weekend.
  11. Guts, Im working then too lol ah well less then a year to go and I can get back to doing "normal" days and hours.
  12. Score thanks, looking forwards to getting back out there..Unfortunately I work weekends so will be putting up meets for Thur/Fri evenings, looking forwards to do some good ol twisty road missions as I haven't seen much outside of Auckland. Now time to sell off the leggy, had some interest put it at a above average price, and will knock it down every week til it goes.
  13. Finally picked up my new baby...a tidy 02 V8 Sti Wrx with 229kw atw at last tune. Now I'll defo be coming to meets again, just hated not having a turbo car to come along with hence why I been anti-social haha Only 108k on the clock, brand spanking new tein adjustables with in-cabin dampner adjustment, 3" full exhaust, genuine zerosports front bar, scoop replaced with bonnet vent, FMIC, Tial BOV, nice sti wheels, a full retune, plus a pretty mean sound system with subs....on the side it has the stock equal length headers giving it more that "evo" sound which I like IMO. Already have a genuine defi gauge set and holder to put in plus an anti-lift kit, needs some minor TLC such as tyres replaced (all good new tyres just mismatched unfortunately when one wore out), a few scratches here and there from trolleys and down the road the 5th/6th gear synchro's replaced...By no means even stuffed but are on their way out with the odd crunch I had when driving it all of last night, and might keep an eye out for an STI muffler as it is a little on the loud side( not majorly but can just see me getting a noisy exhaust fine one day down the track.
  14. Not bad at all, I picked up my v8 sti for 14k with 108k on the clock unmolested (+ all the basic mods done exhaust, pod,FMIC,pod filter, adjustables, tune), so it's a good deal.
  15. Got my rear bumper resprayed from where it got dinged a couple times from people hitting it in carparks and not leaving a message..Now to put on trademe and sell it off as have got fresh wof/full service and the ding sorted.
  16. +1 to the above, it's v1/2 rear bumper then goes to a smoother facelift rear bumper for v3+ model. It's the one bit everyone generally forgets to do when doing a facelift of a v1/2 model.
  17. Service,WOF and replaced rear brake pads, swaybar links and a few other bits & pieces that needed doing to the legacy.
  18. Bought a set of defi gauges with pod for my soon to arrive v8 sti
  19. Im not usually into stanced stuff but this has caught my eye despite it being shopped.
  20. Yeah...maybe I'm getting old but it just isn't my cup of tea now (mate will kill me saying that haha), really love the stock bumper with the carbon fibre lip option and the scoop that is what makes a subaru in my opinion
  21. That things has been doing the rounds for a long time, wheels need a change and front bumper back to a 22b or something custom to suit....The custom wide body, just doesn't look right though IMO is it too curvy? I can't put my finger on it, but it just doesn't look quite right.
  22. Cheers, still love your old red blitzen...Love the wheels on that car.
  23. My first car 1995 V2 WRX My next wrx (now turned race car) 1994 V1 WRX My current run-around 02 Legacy H6 My soon to arrive run-around 02 STI
  24. Mate is drving the subbi up to aux for me, so won't have it in time for this meet but will be ready to rock for the next mee.
