  1. Make sure that only genuine subaru gaskets are used or you will have the same problem in 6 months time.
  2. Definitly lower on drivers side...Racing stripes very seventies..What can you say.
  3. Yeah..Been there..Gets a bit tricky when you go to the bank and try to deposit a couple of crates of whiskey into your account so the bills can get paid..
  4. Do you meen the impreza that Colin McRae drove brilliantly to win the rally of New Zealand? 300 hp @ 5500rpm 325 Ibft torque @ 4000...
  5. And not a very good boxer by the look of its nose...
  6. Synthetic oils seem to be recommended in most cases for turbo motors although in saying that i ran my wrx on castrol protec for 5 years without any drama.. Also synthetics are less prone to "coking" the oil galleries in the turbo according to people with more experience than myself..
  7. I have run a vf22 on my wrx and coupe with out water cooling for several years with out any problems... Use synthetic oils and be sensible about letting engine idle for a few minutes before shut down if hot... Hope that is of some help.
  8. Toyota Australia have announced price for base model GT 86....Drum roll..$29,990 AU.
  9. Well done young fella...you didnt give up even with all the shite that went down. Hope you have fun now its a RUNNER.... 8)....Cheers.
  10. Dont think Lunchie is a bug eye man... The engine internals will be good for 200+ kw and the vf22 is a good choice for the turbo..Do It..
  11. seen better on sat nite under the ashhurst bridge...bloody digger deviants are amateurs.
  12. I have got a VF22 on my v4 coupe, close ratio box,and prefer it to the VF23 i swapped from. The 22 is a bit slower to build boost but once spinning it pulls good. With the close ratio box you are cruising at around 3500rpm @ 110ks and the turbo is just below its boost threshold,so the power is right there when needed but not coming in at highway speed.Thats how i like it.
  13. [quote author=WRXONP link=topic=29212.msg402789#msg402789 date=133343831 fuel pressure - 43.5 + whatever boost you run - 63.5 psi fuel at 20p Is this correct? How does the turbo boost increase fuel pressure?
  14. Those kw outputs are factory flywheel..so no drive train loss calculated.
  15. Re oil mesh filter...Carefully remove ...Examine under strong light ...Biff over shoulder ...Carry on.
  16. Autumn oil/filter change...Penrite HPR 10 synthetic 10/50..thought i would try something different from castrol edge for no reason in particular... Changed 17" enkei`s to original 16" STI golds fitted with new Goodyear F1 eagles 205/50 zr`s made in germany..had these for a few years in storage. Car looks nice and have had positive comments... Also with the short gearing and smaller wheels its even faster than before.. ;D
  17. According to the Impreza book by Brian Long... "version 3..a new four spoke steering wheel with standard SRS airbag was fitted to most models,HX20S and WRX could be ordered with 3 spoke Nardi steering wheels.STI came standard with Nardi wheel but SRS air bag wheel was an option."
  18. ^^^^^^Good Post^^^^^^^ funky edit: pappu i've removed your post. The lazy guy can read it for himself.
