  1. Hey dude, my HID ballasts mount onto my headlights. Bare in mind my headlights are a different design to yours.
  2. For what car? I'll be taking my Version 8 headlights out to get worked on in a few days time and can take photos.
  3. I have a 2002 WRX and fitted a Deatchwerks DW200 with no issues at all, using the stock pick up sock. DW200: http://www.nzperformance.co.nz/fuel-system/fuel-pumps/deatschwerks/dw200-500hp-intank-pump-subaru.html
  4. [quote name='Andy_Mac said: Turns out my package was a front and a rear too. Wasn't palnning on doing them for a while anyway so not fussed. Lucky on the airbags. The full assortment of them in mine has been a major pain for me. Good to hear you guys' springs have arrived/partially, even though I'm still at work, the main gates are closed and no one is manning reception so I'll have no idea when mine arrive.. if they do.
  5. Take a photo of the applied model code and upload Google did point out it could be a UK spec WRX, which would be a little odd in NZ.. I also wouldn't think being a '96 it'd be a NZ new spec one.
  6. Factory is a TD04 or some description. And yes they do differ between the years. A VF30/34 would be an upgrade, but you'd need the oil and water lines to suit the VF series. And definitely have your ECU reflashed to accommodate the change. I have my TD04 from my v8 WRX that I could part with if you get desperate. I am in Chch and freight would be a little $$$.
  7. 6B and gapped to .75mm. Or NGK BKR6EIX
  8. http://www.redlineperformance.co.nz/products/exhaust/exhaust-systems/subaru/hks-wrx-sti-gc8-92-00-hi-power-exhaust-system/ HKS = "JDM" Or: http://www.fortyone.co.nz/ Then PM: http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/member.php?363-Fortyone-co-nz for pricing.
  9. Can't go wrong with Magnatec 10w40 or Edge 5w40. I did hear with AVCS you don't want to use an oil with a w50 rating, but unsure if that's true as I've kinda forgotten.
  10. It fits, but there are mounting points on the chassis that are missing. I think it's a few along the front window, a bracket near the shifter. I also think the support bar thing also has slightly different mount points.
  11. I am wanting to plan a short cruise out to Diamond Harbour for a coffee, but lack of time and funds for me to drive are holding me back. I know a couple of friends are keen though. I'm in a similar situation with Dave, give me plenty of notice so I can plan around work.
  12. Mint! The convoy from chch will be more than one car this time
  13. Can you please run some tests and let me know the results? I've been trying to save those last couple of seconds of my commute for months now.
  14. IMG_8610 by Tim Bowman, on Flickr Colour code: 406. No blue hue to it though..
  15. I agree! Then again my Version 8 ECU has been running an unknown engine with not too much issue for 10,000k's before it was tuned... Mechanic suspects it's from a Forry.
  16. Minta Connor! We'll have to have a mish to Diamond Harbour one weekend.
  17. Sounds like a good plan. Hopefully there is a tuner in your area who is reasonably priced and future retunes will be discounted A Deatchwerks DW200 fuel pump is pretty affordable and depending on the K's your car has done, it might pay to bump it up the priority list: http://www.nzperformance.co.nz/fuel-system/fuel-pumps/deatschwerks/dw200-500hp-intank-pump-subaru.html There was a user a while back who had a V7 WRX wagon and with a 2.5" exhaust and a retune, he was getting 180kw, but of course his top end was lacking due to the TD04.
  18. Chip tune? shouldn't need one, factory ECU is reflashable. VF30 will bolt on, you'll need oil and water lines. Injectors will fit. V7 STi shouldn't be needed as your ECU is reflashable, unless the STi ECU has more cells for tuning.. not worth it.
  19. If you can get a tune for that money, do that. Factory the ECU does run rich and you can make money + more economy with a simple tune. Plus the car will feel a lot nicer to drive. I have a version 8 WRX wagon and all I have done is: - TD05 - Silicone intake - Deatchwerks DW200 fuel pump - Spark plugs - Decatted downpipe And a road tune and the car feels 100x happier and wants to move. Be careful what you read on the Subaru Parts NZ page.. there's more to it than bolting on a VF30. Realistically, what I would have done in your shoes is saved up, bought a 2.5" Turbo back exhaust, DW200 or Walbro fuel pump, turbo of your choice then get it all installed and straight off to get tuned. Then look at an engine later if your current one is limiting power or blows up. And also read: http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?37777-How-to-get-power-out-of-your-WRX-STI
