  1. yeah well im aware of that , just giving an example of another combination. some people still install a seperate ebc to control boost and still use the link ecu to do fuel etc. apparently a good ebc can control boost more stable than the early links can.
  2. dont really need a controller, can just use the appropriate spring in the wastegate and let that control boost on its own, thats what i used to do. but an ebc is always better. im running tdo5 with yellow tops and using the factory copntroller with a link ecu and it all runs fine!!
  3. nothing is obvious to a modified car where the law is concerned!!!
  4. not true on a factory setup the air intake has the breather from crankcase and tappet covers plumbed into it so there is that moisture/oil residue/gases in the compressed air which would be released to atmosphere via a vented bov instead of being burnt of and recirculated by a plumb back bov this does not happen if you run a catch can for all your breathers to collect the moisture into of course, i guess these will be illegal here soon to like they are in ozzy along with vented bov and pod filters!!!
  5. does anyone know if they are gaing to be illegal because of the noise issue or because it is dumping emmisions to the atmosphere instead of the intake to burn them of again??
  6. be very cautious useing maniseal preturbo, has a tendency to go hard then flake of and drop into the exhaust when used on some applications, not ideal haveing a drop of excess maniseal coming adrift and through the turbo.
  7. bloody big karts if thats whats on the track
  8. also the bolt is an m6 that is needed to pull the pin out not m10. pull the pin out then the fork, too much risk of damaging the thrust bearing, pressure plate etc, if ya dont know what ya trying to do with the "screwdriver" method.
  9. seal kits for both master and slave cylinder are available at bnt , peace of cake to bleed system, use a bleeding reservior for doing brakes, and take the slave of the g/box hold it with the nipple up , and hold the plunger in while ya get someone to slowly pump the clutch a few times, then tighten the nipple, the person pumping will have to pull the clutch pedal back up by hand , and remember to keep the reservior topped up with new clutch fluid. doing it the traditional way by opening and closing the nipple will also work but very fiddly and messy
  10. 2 will always be better than one in regaurds to cooling ability, more power draw though.
  11. that is really weird, anyway to get a capture date for the image, and comparing it to the sports car club calender??
  12. the email was tabled at the last meeting , but ill remind them at tonights meeting, ta!
  13. wont matter which way ya run , ya never get good grip on worn chip seal once its warm. bring on the new dragstrip with tarseal and trackbite!!!
  14. all drag racing on a street is supposed to be 1/8th mile, nzdra wont allow drag racing on a street , hence why it is sanctioned under the hot rod club banner, and hot rod clubs are only allowed to run 1/8th mile drags. gore and otepuni has always been 1/8th mile as far as i am aware. may have been 1/4 in the old days before osh and all the crap hit the fan after that guy was killed in queenstown. i was running 8.3s at 84 mile an hour, car threw a wobbly during the second round of knock out , but went fine after that ?? going to investigate electrical issues tonight. it amazes me how many people walk around and go ' my car is faster than these v8sandmyevo is way tidyer than that heap , but yet ya never see them front up and prove anything , really getsme going!!!!! big thanks to everyone who turned up, and especially those who hung around to clean , and pack up the caravan, timing gear , pa system and rubbish collection . Great to see more street cars turning up.
  15. was an all evo final in sct, not sure who it was that won, great day some awsome racing , and huge numbers. i even tried my hand at 4wd burnouts during staging at the end of the day , was alot of fun ;D ;D ;D everyone was well behaved to , great to see!!!
  16. yeah v8s are all good, my other car is a v8, the tow car LOL
  17. better sell ya rex and get a family wagon then ?? perhaps a VAN!!!!
  18. if ya clutch is that close it will go on the day , if its nearly toast might as well finish it of LOL
  19. oh come on guys, ya work every day and kart race most sundays, this only happens once a year!!!!
  20. not sure how many have pre entered, probly only half dozen or so, normally have about 20 by the meeting. yeah all entrys were filled last year a couple were turned away for not passing scrutineering and one for acting the goat in the pit area later in the day but i know the numbers were close to what we allowed. lets hope the weather holds out , wont be called of until about an hour before start time so it still pays to turn up , get paid up and scrutineered even if it looks dodgey , its raned up an hour before and we have still raced. sounds like a good meeting coming up with who i have heard is coming along.
  21. yes you can enter on the day, at the southern transport yards. but first in first served, first 70 cars in .
