so what exactly is different about the gtb and sti "semi forged" pistons? i now have my set out of the block i bought (97 gtb) and also had a look at a set from a v5 sti the other day, sure they have a different indent on the top of them and a shorter skirt etc but what exactly gives them the title "semi forged" they all seem to have casting marks on them, cast pistons are cast pistons, right?

and has taken many, many loads?

450 should be fine in an everyday 2.0l car, what surprised me with batterys was that i had to go to a 600 for starting my boat (90hp johnson v4 2 stroke) a 450 had no chance in hell of starting it, and it seems a reasonably small motor?

is there many peole that retro-fit cruise control? I have a complete setup with the ecu, wiring, steering wheel control and dash switch etc, was gonna chuck it out but if theres a demand for them i'll keep it and chuck it on here/trademe one day

i have a brand new set of graphite head gaskets i bought to use in my budget build, and have discovered that my parts engine has a very good set of multi layer steel headgaskets in it, that im thinking may have not done many kms at all, block had new sealant on it and aftermarket headstuds. would i be better off re using the steels than the new graphites?

do you have a prefered brand/product drf? laadan (hijacka) also recomends i use it when assembling my new motor

dont know about fail, but mine were all over the show and didnt throw a code, allthough I think there is a code for each injector

yeap I dont see any real problems with that apart from maybe a tiny bit lean as drfvdr says but shouldnt be giving you the symptoms you have, if anything the motor will build boost quicker running a bit lean, within reason, det is a killer!

have you had a good look around under it? could be something touching an exhaust manifold somewhere? does it do it everytime its nice and hot or just some of the time?
