  1. Finally got round to installing my new headunit. Looks mean eh!
  2. this exactly will be the issue, replace the O ring regardless of its condition, you can get a pack of them cheap as from Super Cheap.
  3. this has been my gripe for a long tome now as i ride both dirt bikes and road bikes, as well ad drive a car. the ACC component of a road bike rego fee is massive, and the rational behind it is "because motorcyclists crash more and cost more in medical expenses" However there is evidence to show that the overwhelming majority of motorcycle accident claims on ACC are from off road motorcycle accidents, and by off road i mean, people riding un-registered motorcycles through the bush. now its not a legal requirement to register an off road motorcycle. im not complaining about that at all. but how is it fair then to say that the money to pay for these accidents (that happen in the bush, and involve motorcycles that have never been registered so dont contribute to ACC at all) should come from those who are registered? ie road bikers? My 2c

  8. Check the fuel pump just for ****s and giggles. Make sure the engine is getting a good amount of fuel. bot in common for the pumps to just kark it with no warning...
  9. Spark + Fuel + Air, it should be going, or at least giving you more life, Water in a terminal from the pressure clean of engine bay?
  10. I remember an old member on here saying that the BH legacy wagons and later don't need a rear bar as much as the older ones as they have a different rear suspension setup meaning there is less/little/no stress/contortion on the chassis... in the rear that is, front still a good idea... don't know how much truth there is in that statement, just putting it out there...
  11. late comer to the convo, haven't read page 2 or 3, but are you going to be doing the bulk of the work your self? personally if it was me, id do all the engine removal and installation, and get someone to sort the short block... I've had quotes of a fully forged short block around the 3-5k mark...
  12. i think if you had any major issues like a head gasket then that would have caused more issues by now. I drove a GTB from Wellington to Auckland at xmas, never had any issues before the trip, but problems started in Waiouru. Came close to over heating every 2 hours from there to Auckland and return. turned out it was a broken head gasket. That said, the EZ30R is very different to an EJ20, so I assume would act differently... i would think your issue is either a pinhole leak in a hose, or a very small leak when a hose joins on to a metal fitting... OR coolant burning off... (less likely this problem.) but without looking its hard to diagnose. Good Luck! Let us know how you get on.
  13. take it back... ask for proof of pressure test... i guess it is remotely possible that its still burning off excess coolant that may have been spilt, but after 700km i would have thought that would be well gone...
  14. Should be... Server Printer Helmets Overalls if Paul has room....
  15. yeah Old committee has a bunch of stuff we need to get back up north, is that what you're PMing him about ?
  16. Usually the top is the intake, and if its "leaking" its sucking in air at the same time as fluid, meaning its not sealing properly, and causing the whine. or maybe your fluid is just old and needs replacing/bleeding...
  17. its official... so date and time?
  18. the pump on my mrs GTB was whining, i replaced the o ring on the intake side hose and it went completely quiet... worth a shot considering the o rings are cheap as...
