  1. Mines the fastest when I win but when someone else wins mines not the fastest ;D
  2. I drove V8 experience at Taupo. Is that the same thing? Is was ok but tame because they wouldn't let me use 1st gear at the hairpin and light up the slicks:( It was still fun and worth doing. I got a voucher so it didn't cost.
  3. Sorry can't come. Will be at Nando's Riccarton Why don't you all come down there for a change?
  4. My GC STI front was 19mm and rear was 20mm which was really good for a long time but after a while... ...I upgraded to adjustable 22mm front and adjustable 24mm rear, to keep a similar balance because the car was good, and adjusted them until I had the right combination of flatness, turn-in, oversteer, understeer for my driving style in tarmac autocrosses. They're set on softer of the settings 21.5mm front and 23mm rear. When I set the fron to 22.5mm I got a appreciable amount of understeer. When I set the rear to 24mm I got oversteer. When I set them both at the same time I got both understeer going into a corner and oversteer coming out of the same corner and it was unmanageable and unnerving. I running standard STI V4 springs (which are softish).
  5. Nope - balance makes it faster. A rear swaybar gives more turn-in, plus more oversteer. You can then balance that with a larger front swaybar which neutralises oversteer and gives flatter turning.
  6. Get both! A 'matched set' (set matched for your driving) will improve turning, and minimise both under and oversteer.
  7. Here's one of mine from MegaMeet last year:
  8. I'm not coming at this stage. The gearbox is still being rebuilt. It would be a miracle if I made it even for Sat but I cross my fingers just in case.
  9. I've used successfully for track days/road use the following: Mintex 1166, Bendix Metalking, EBC Redstuff Ceramic, Ferodo DS2500, Repco Lucas (1 track day disposable).
  10. I'm flying to Invers probably on Tuesday morning to pick up my car. Was going to drive to DN on Tuesday and stay with my father-in-law then drive up with the Dunners crew on Wedsneday. Anyway, I'll change this depending on what the plan is.
  11. K&N panel filter on my Legacy for 300,000kms. No AFMs broken ever. K&N panel filter on my Impreza for 80,000kms. No AFM broken.
  12. +1 for Just Rust in Tawa. They fixed rust and ripped seams in my charade for excellent price in Feb, and it passed wof.
  13. Wooaahh - my head's spinning already with codes. Too early in the morning.
  14. Trace the wires and see where they go to?
  15. That sucks Joe. Best presented BC5 and RS I've ever seen.
  16. I need a new alarm for my car. Is parking a car in there discrete?
  17. Installed a modified () 5mm alloy sump guard and 2 front mudflaps. Vacuumed and photo'd the Legacy in preparation for selling it.
  18. I bought one from Simon. From memory it was $750. That gives you a large if unhelpful price range.
  19. Have always used genuine Subaru coolant for the cars and never had problems. It's good stuff. Now I'm questioning how come it's so expensive compared to SuperCheap coolants. Can anyone recommend coolant that's as good as genuine at a cheaper price? Or should I keep with what I'm using for long-term cooling, anti-rust, anti-freeze, etc?
  20. Sleeker! Weight reduction is today - turbo vacuum cleaner assistance.
  21. USED TOO, I heard he got his LVV cert authority pulled for passing too many dodgy mods. Ken At Wellington Vehicle Compliance in rutherford st lower hutt did mine, I had a little drama after I cut away some of the air bag crumple zone but got there in the end. He even ticked the modified engine box for me so further engine mods/power increases didn't void my cert. Juniors Customs in Wingate can now do LVV certs as well I used Ken at Automotive Vehicle Compliance for re-registering the Charade after it had been rear-ended and deregd. They were helpful, and great to deal with.
  22. Washed the Legacy. 1st time in over 6 months. It goes better now. It really does.
  23. I like the last one. It removes any doubt. The old old rule was 'when both turning right - it's road courtesy as to who gives way'. Now the 'main' road has right-of-way. Is good. Simple.
