    split radiator

Pickapart is a $60 option. Make sure it's had anti-freeze in it.
  4. Track-driving on road tyres teaches you to handle oversteer, understeer, 4 wheel drifting as you hit these limits sooner. And it's fun

  6. There's a competitor coaching day the following sunday on 18th at Manfield run by constructors car club. There are 2x groups 0-100kph and unlimited. You can have a instructor in group 1 (no cage required).
  7. Boobies and kitties http://leenks.com/link375442.html
  8. My car's seen a lot of weekend track time (not so much recently) and the baffled sump done the trick. Other than that it's just a normal sti engine. Thinking about it some more it's probably got much less power (169kw) than you'll have so maybe not so helpful. ???
  9. I get that with 225 semis. You could try a narrower tyre, if your car is an older one.
  10. Replaced an engine mount on the charade and cracked the cast aluminium engine bracket while cross-threading the bolt. Luckily had a spare half-decent bracket. Grrr
  11. I'll be there lateish and pick up my DVD. Have prior committments until 8:30.
  12. Alright thanks. Will start thinking about tyres.
  13. I think I know where that is - coffee beans and milk a must Isn't there a friendly coffee subaru franchise at Pukerua Bay?
  14. Some Legacies have a hidden inline fuse. Hard to find.
  15. Oooooh - Mind Control!
  16. Unlock before and into corner and three quarters way round. Lock on exit of corner. How about voice command? "Lock" and "Open"
  17. No, it doesn't - no rollcage required. You can use any car, as long as it passes their (normal clubsport) scrutineering. This is all the info I can find on the web at the moment - http://www.teretonga.org.nz/index.php?page=events-calendar look down the calendar for March next year.
  18. Some of us from the Wellington area are coming down to Invercargill for the ClubSport Champs run by the SSCC on 2-4 March 2012. It's a long way but it will be a great road trip and fun weekend's worth of events. Does anyone have any advance information on the format? Our rep for the MotorSport NZ conference told me it's going to be a sealed motorkhana, sealed autocross and gravel hillclimb. Can anyone confirm this? And also what would the locations possibly be? Any rumours or otherwise unsubstantiated facts will be gratefully received. Won't hold you to them. The reason is that I want some time to think about tyre choices and maybe even save up for tyres. Cheers Al
  19. I'll be going, budget should just handle it.
  20. Modified Mercalli 12 - too soon?
  21. So that's what I'm doing wrong. Yeah, tried that but stuck tighter than... well... you know. Anyway, fixed now. They were rusty, so painted them with black Hammerite. Look a lot better now. Classy
  22. Thanks guys. After your comments I listened to the fronts only and found that, by crikey, there was just as much distortion there so I'll replace them 1st. And yes, I have the factory Alpine 3CD in-dash unit. It's not 50W rms like I thought, hadn't swapped it out. Must of been dreaming. Will upgrade the fronts first, then rears. Found some 6" speakers in the workshop, which will be 2nd hand so will put them in the rear, and get some new ones for the fronts.
