  1. ok cool thanks will jave to give this a go.
  2. just a quick question, i have a full set of gt seats for my bg tsr, the drivers one is electric and my factory tsr one isnt, so will there be wiring already under the seat somewhere to plug into or will i have to wire it in somehow? i already have the rear seats and passenger one in so i want the drivers in cause thats the worst of them all. thanks
  3. looks same as mine, which is v2.
  4. i think it handles very well, its alot different to when it was 4wd obviously, i mean you do need to corner differently. but it does corner well, i havent driven it for ages but the only mods i had where strut brace, k brace, diff brace, and lowered springs. however i have now fitted 22mm front roll bar, nolothane bushes and rear subframe locking bolts to stiffen things up a bit. im yet to test these out though. this is all stuff you would do to a normal 4wd subaru mind you.
  5. i have no front diff in my gearbox at all but i do overfill my gearbox on purpose so the gears pick up the oil. What oil do you use? i use a caltex GL5 rated 75w90 synthetic, only cause its what we have available at work. Have you used Castrol multitrax? I heard that's what our gearboxes are meant to have ??? nope but thats just a different brand, its still the same spec oil that i use.

  8. yea i always thought that, but theres only one reason people change subarus to rwd lol, once you start dropping clutches, slamming gears, stuff like that then they dont seem to like it. if you were to drive round normally though without causing extra stress on the gearbox itl be fine though. i have found the gearbox as the weakest link in my setup, even though im only running a r160 rear diff.
  9. heaps of info on this, and shirt answer is no it wont last forever, rebuilt my gearbox 3 or 4 times since been rwd
  10. i had the guts taken out of my centre diff and it was welded but there just wasnt enough surface left to weld up and it broke the welds within a day, now i have the spider gears welded up with shitloads of weld and havent had any problems. i believe the later centre diffs are different and give you more surface area to weld to with the guts out. i just have my front diff completely removed and plugged the hole with brass frost plugs ;D
  11. your car windows most likely have a slight factory tint as well which makes them darker than 35%.
  12. haha think i better stick to what i got, wouldnt wana create more issues for myself
  13. never broken a axle or cv in my rwd wrx, and its done its fair share of burnouts, donuts and sideways lol, only had one noisey diff which i changed before it totally blew. and i believe the car is still on its original cvs/shafts as im the only nz owner from low kms. maybe the genuine cvs make it stronger, not sure.
  14. wheel alignment done today and got my little momo wheel fitted at the same time, feels like im driving a go cart now lol.
  15. fitted new front control arm bushes (both were split right through) and another powersteering rack boot, thats all the front done now, getting wheel alignment done tomorrow.
  16. yea i like it, sits perfectly level and feels 10x better than before and they are 17z on it they are off my wrx lol. i dont want it any lower cause this is our family car at the moment and we go away all the time so want it to be comfortable. you should of seen how high this thing was riding before haha. lol at smurff, ive had my days of cut springs thanks
  17. not sure to be honest but my measurements before and after give 45mm drop both ends. any lower and the springs wouldnt be very captive if at all, its a nice height, not toooo low but low enough.
  18. this is what i did to my legacy today. *fitted new munroe rear shocks *fitted front and rear superlows - from gazzy2000 :-) *new rear brake pads *rebuilt front right axle with grease and new boots *flushed brake fluid looks so much better now its lower and feels so much better with the new shocks, the rears were totally rooted.
  19. pretty sure thats the one thats been onto my work, or one very very similar, same wheels etc.
  20. you want to go visit an auto electrician, they will stock these parts.
  21. hmm what did i do to my car this weekend, well i bought a 94 legacy tsr, a manual one, for $600 so im on a mission to get a wof this week, did new front rotors and pads on saturday as the old owner had them down to metal on metal and was driving round using the hand brake lol, this week will be replacing 2 cv boots, 1 steering rack boot and fixing an exhaust leak. i and i also swapped the 17inch wheels from my wrx onto the tsr since the wrx still aint been used. oh and i got some nice seats out of a gt legacy and swapped in today as the ones in it smell like dog and smokes. now i need to find some lowered springs
  22. he works next to supercheap so you most likely did see it there :-)
  23. sorry i cant be bother looking it up, but is it a 3 wire 02? i have sourced a few aftermarket ones for members here before that are very well priced. no need to get from overseas.
