  1. I always thought it was around 16psi on the newer STI's haha
  2. Same boat. I am out there often, but yeah sold my Subaru last week haha
  3. Ah! How come everyone gets the t1r's so cheap? I am clearly getting ripped off haha!
  4. Might have already been posted but a nice little entertaining video by Paul Henry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu1eWIGo-XI
  5. Could be something serious. And I hate to say it but poorly repaired accident damage? I would imagine a bent chassis rail or something of the like? Edit: Torque Steer? haha
  6. how badly is it pulling left? Even with an alignment it should pull a little to the left, so if you fall asleep at the wheel you won't crash hit on coming traffic.
  7. Not an issue, someone made a mistake entering the figures
  8. My last one cost $800 and he had major issues getting the tune right. That one was with a Micro Tech computer using a hand controller too hahaha So no doubt it you had a brand new link with a common engine/turbo setup it could be cheaper!
  9. Speed Source is in Warkworth, which isn't to far from the shore. Beaten too it! Edit: But doubt you would be able to get a full tune for anywhere near $400 through anyone.
  10. As explained above. Radar detectors are pretty much pointless for Motorway driving slash driving in general these days. Not worth the money And BTW have heard that the laser jammers are pretty average as well anyway so basically just don't speed!
  11. It will be if he says he turned the car off and took the keys with him. But if he says he left it running I would doubt it
  12. Garry Capper has mentioned drilling out the pill in the boost line a little when I had spiking issues in the past. Not sure if it is even possible given the size of the pill but could be an effective option
  13. Yeah when I read it in the paper I was a little suspicious. I doubt anyone who has spent that kind of money on their car would leave it out over night. Spending the extra $20 odd bucks on a dial a driver rather than taking a taxi would have been the smart option.
  14. I am similar to this, works well means mates can drive the car but they just have to be aware how much the excess is. Will have to find out how much my excess is but do know I am paying $800 a year for a 21 Year old with a modified STI in Auckland through a broker so thats the reason for the good deal.
  15. End of the day its your car, you can do what you want with it. Personally I would rather pay the extra $5 -$10 a week to run 98 for piece of mind as we all know how much turbo subaru's like to blow up and run big end bearings
  16. Unless it is wet, I have seen quite a few police cars do a bit of drifting on the way to their jobs, 4wd ftw. Yeah didn't really get that point across really well. How fast the patrol car gets to 100km/h isn't the point. Its the fact that if someone was going to make a run for it they are more likely to stop and pull over if the see an STI with a huge scoop on their ass than if it was the usual v6 commodore. Also would be interesting to see the number of pursuits per person/population in other countries vs the rate in New Zealand. I don't imagine it would be any higher the US or Europe
  17. I think it would be interesting to see if changing some of the police car's to something a little quicker would make any difference to the police pursuit rates. The UK Police seem to think the 'intimidation' factor of having turbo Subaru's and Evo's have worked for them. These can be watched on Police Interceptors program on channel 71 on Sky. Not saying this is a solution to the problem but if it stops a couple of people making the split second decision to run rather than pull over and stop then surely it would be worth it. Edit: Not saying that having faster car's will mean they will be pulled over faster but may be intimidated out of running in the first place
  18. What kind of questions were they? If they were... Have you modified the car? etc Then they may be considering refusing your insurance. Just make sure all your conditions of insurance were covered eg car was parked in locked garage, no modifications etc
  19. ***Continuing this topic rather than starting a new thread*** My injectors have started making a bit more noise than they did when I bought the car. As far as testing/listening to them goes is it ok for me to just unplug one of the injectors while the engine is going to see if the noise stops? I was under the impression this would cause something to melt/damage.
  20. I randomly found one of my wheel nuts on my drive way. Unsure when it came off but stoked I found it before any damage was done ;D
  21. Being a V10 it would be DCCD wouldn't it? What else would you need DCCD wise?
  22. Yeah seems to be heaps of contradicting info after doing some searching. Is this a good price for a Box? I was under the impression it was hard to get your hands on one?
  23. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=296603984 I know this has been covered at little on here but spotted this on trademe. What kind of effort is involved in getting one of these to fit? Is it easy to switch things over with the DCCD stuff?
