Kill switches

Hey all,

looking to put 1 or 2 kill switches in the scoob,

does anyone have some real ninja spots that they have theirs hidden.

would you be able to PM me any suggestions or ideas

I'm not keen on the idea of kill switches. They will eventually be found and bypassed.

I prefer the removal of important components, like ECU's. ;D

on mine i did a wireless kill switch, so i have like another alram thing on my keys. the reciver can be put anywere. i had mine setup so the reciver was hiden, and it killed the power for the ecu, and i ran the cables in teh loom and stuff so it couldnt be even noticed

was great, fist time i did it i did it a bit wrong and it would drain the battery on the car lol

great idea but like keypads they become more hassle than they are worth..just insure the mofo

have like 8 of them

they have to be switched in a particular order to work

(use little pin switches they look cool )

or label it "extra lag"/"boot release"

Or just have a big red button and call it ' Big Red Button '

Use something obvious like the rear window demister button, or foglight button etc

My old flatmates Corolla had that feature purely through dodgy split wiring somewhere in the car ;D

Haha good idea. But make it so it has to be on for the car to be on. Like lit up.

does anyone have any information on where to buy, or a website that explains how it operates?

no reason why a normal house alarm couldn't be wired to suit - ask Smurff maybe....

Put another switch on the dash for a horn, and use the horn button as a start button. What thief is going to want to hit the noisy button!! ;D

lol, no reason why one couldnt use a house alarm, but you can get keypad set for cars, there probably cheaper than a house alarm.

had a house PIR sensor in the back of my ute for a while, connected to my normal car alarm.

Now there's a good idea!

You could even wire the start position of the key to the horn. No extra buttons, and no loss of functionality!

My mate has this on his hilux. He doesnt have an ignition barrell though.
